EXTRA 33 1/3 on the label
Ernest J Day Cover too

Well, we all know how rare these TRUE 3rd pressings are....Tooling suggests these are as rarer than the Gold Lables as there were only around 5,000 pressed back in '63!

Quality weight: 170g vinyl!

This Mono version of Please Please Me was the very limited pressing transition from the Black and Gold labels, over to the now more common Parlophone yellow logo. However, in the cross-over, these THIRD pressings of this album did not carry the "RECORDING 1st PUBLISHED" text above the matrix number on the label, at the 9 O'clock position.
Nor did they carry the SOLID IN THE UK...Statement.
There were only around 5000 printed with this mistaken extra '33 1/3'.

This error was quickly spotted and pressings with this extra '33 1/3' were quickly halted and subsequently changed to the later label format of the 4th pressing...only a very few survived with the 33 1/3....And here's one!

Catalogue Number: PMC 1202

Matrix Numbers:
Side 1: XEX 421-1N
Side 2: XEX 422-1N

Mothers/Stampers:
Side 1: 2 GH
Side 2: 1 M
INCREDIBLE EARLY PRESSING

(As a further note: these low tooling Mothers/Stampers show these were being sold at the same time as the Black & Gold labels)

Vinyl:
VG.

This is a slab of vinyl for the true collector!
I gave her a gentle vacuum clean and then listened to her-all the way through. I am very happy to say the audio was clean and clear throughought, with just the occasional light background noise, but nothing offensive what-so-ever.
I noticed just the occasional light background crackle and occasional soft pop-that was all...I noticed a revolutionary number of pops in the transition from Baby It's You into Do You Want To Know A Secret...as well as a 3 light ones between There's A Place, into Twist and Shout...But nothing offensive to me.
Yes, visually there are many marks to the vinyl, but nothing at all to make her jump, skip or stick and I had my arm on rather a light setting too.
They knew how to make 'em back then!

Cover
VG.

It is THE ORIGINAL and RARE Erenst J Day cover with the larger MONO to the top right.
 WOULD FRAME WELL.
The bottom left corner has a light line of spidering to the laminate, with the flipbacks to the top, on the back having some tape-as can be seen in the images provided.
NO SPLITS
There is some writing in fountain pen next to the tracks.
Remains lovely and solid today.

These all important and increasingly rare CORRECT 3rd pressing labels are in a very good, displayable condition.
This is the real reason to buy this record-these 33 1/3 labels, which were around for only approximately 5,000 pressings!...Making these babies rarer than their Black & Gold counterparts.
I can see only light central hole wear-as can be seen in the images provided...There is evidence of slight lifting to the side 1 label from a sticker which has been removed...Please see the pictures.
The added dimension of rareity is the transitional "MKT" tax code!

***********
the MT tax code was used from January 1963 only until the 1st of June 1963...a very short running indeed and this record was released in March 1963
