Led Zeppelin
THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME
A UK 1st Pressing

Commonly dismissed as a disappointment upon its initial release, the soundtrack to Led Zeppelin's concert movie The Song Remains the Same is one of those '70s records that has aged better than its reputation -- it's the kind of thing that's more valuable as the band recedes into history than it was at the time, as it documents its time so thoroughly.
Led Zep’s manager Peter Grant revealed in a 1989 interview in Raw magazine:
“We first got the idea for Swan Song after Atlantic f- up the pressings for Led Zeppelin II. They actually ran off 100,000 copies which jumped all over the place because they didn’t follow Jimmy’s precise instructions on the master tape. So we just decided that it was time for us to take control of our own situation and ensure that Led Zeppelin were presented in the best possible manner. We oversaw every aspect of record manufacture. I would go down to the pressing plant myself and make sure that everything ran smoothly. And I discovered some very interesting things. For instance, the records are dipped during the manufacturing process into vats of acid right? But for Rock/ Pop stuff these vats are only cleaned out every six months. However, for classical records there are separate vats which are cleaned out every ten days! So, I persuaded the powers that be to dip Zeppelin’s albums into the classical vat, which is part of the reason why the sound quality on our albums was so good

With STRAWBERRY stamped into all 4 sides' run-out groove.

The vinyl:
VG.

After giving her a gentle vacuum clean I popped her onto my deck, turned up the volume and  sat back.
Having just finished playing her all the way through, I wasn't dissapointed with the sound reproduction at all....There are only light marks to each of the vinyls, certainly nothing to make her jump or skip. I didn't notice any significant background noise throughout...The run in of side 1 is a little noise for the first few seconds, then there are 4 or so soft pops but once the music starts the audio blasts out with utter clarity :)
There is only some very occasional and light bit of background noise and the occasional light pop on a few tracks-not all....I also noticed a slight wobble to the first vinyl, but this had NO EFFECT on playback. The start of side 3 has some background noise, which is more noticeable due to the delicate nature of the start of the song: No Quater
Stairway To Heaven is wonderfully clear and sounds great as a live track.
EACH OF THE SONGS REMAIN SOLID, with clean and clear audio :)

The Labels:
EX+

Swan Song labels with just a couple of incredibly light spindle marks to them-would frame well!
They are the 1st pressings-WITHOUT the 'Manufactured in the UK' statements
LOVELY

The Sleeve:
VG+

There is some light storage/handling wear to this sleeve. With some gentle rubbing to the corners, but nothing terrible. There is some disc wear to the front-as can be seen in the images provided, with some light marks to the back panel.
NO SPLITS
NO WRITING
The booklet is still with her and in GREAT condition too...with the original staples and wonderful vibrant colours...With some light patches of blooming to the paper.

The Inners:
EX-.
ALL ORIGINAL BLACK INNERS.

Free from splits...just light creasing as can be seen in the images provided.

SO, ALL IN ALL THIS IS SOLID PIECE FOR ANY COLLECTOR-REMEMBER THIS IS THE 1st PRESSING AND STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL BOOKLET IN SUPER CONDITION.....STICK HER ON YOUR TURNTABLE AND TURN HER UP-I DID ;)  !!
