This edition issued in 2021 and includes an exclusive live bonus CD featuring tracks from two reunion shows from 2016 and 2018, respectively. Pressed on 180g vinyl and housed in a heavy 300g full color gatefold cover. DESCRIPTION, as supplied by the label:  File under: progrock, avant-garde, Zeuhl, Metamorfosi, Semiramis, Shylock, Shub Niggurath, Alphataurus, Eskaton... This polymorphous, succulent, and luscious multi-faceted concept album retains the awe of the vertiginous moment of newly discovering land; it was heralded in the 1970's music press in Argentina as a phenomenon, and has been revered globally ever since by progrock aficionados as a well-kept secret. Unfettered by the stealthily eroding repetitiveness that eventually forces aural innovations into the territory of trite and lackluster replicas, Bubu’s Anabelas still beguiles the most demanding listener by dint of its unique compositional trajectory, marked by the propulsive amalgamation of symphonic prog with Zeuhl and such-like discernible cross-pollinations, all while being couched in vividly surrealistic artwork. It is not merely with sheer joy, but with overwhelming jouissance that we undertook the demanding task to reissue on vinyl the behemoth that is called Anabelas. The album is truly remarkable, and to be cherished by collectors who have been kept at a distance in the face of the astronomical prices that are demanded for original copies. With so many flavors parading synaesthetically in an ethereal escapade, Anabelas is equally appealing to the most trained ears to the sonic vicissitudes of Italian prog, or to fans of the avant-hard electronics of Add N to X. And there is one more important reason why the re-birth of Anabelas is even more appealing than the original release: the exclusive bonus CD, featuring recordings from two seminal and highly acclaimed live-shows performed by Bubu — awaiting rediscovery at the end of the rainbow.

 

Some additional notes from my supplier:

 

Along with the traditional rock set-up (guitar, bass, and drums), the band featured a violinist, flutist, saxophonist, and pianist. Their music was complex, energetic, and diabolical in a King Crimson-ish sort of way. Influences were varied (classic, jazz, rock, folk) but make for quite an interesting blend. Released in 1978, Anabelas was essentially a snapshot of the band’s live performances, and consists of three long mostly instrumental compositions, which are filled with intense interaction between the musicians, dozens of melodic surprises, and unexpected tempo changes. An album with strong influences from progressive jazz like Mahavishnu Orchestra, Frank Zappa’s The Grand Wazoo, and the madness of Gong; one of the top progressive albums to come out of Argentina in the 1970s.

All LPs are removed from their jackets and placed outside of the jacket for shipping. If an album comes sealed (and will be noted as such in the above description), it will be shipped whole unless you request that I open it up to place the disc outside of the jacket for shipping. Both jacket and disc are placed inside of an outer plastic sleeve before packing for shipping. I use professional corrugated record mailers with inside packing.
