Right, so this gets a bit complicated..........This is not a repress of the record but the original Jamaican pressing from 1981.........but, this is a rerecording of an earlier song by some members of this group. The group were originally The Fashioneers, they recorded this song in 1975 at Channel One. Both groups were started by Leonard Billings. The Fashioneers cut was not a huge success and the band was broken up. A new band was started by Leonard thus The Mighty Abidjans. In 1981 The Mighty Abidjans returned to Channel One and re-voiced the song to the original rhythm track, this is what is available here. I have seen this version sold as by The Fashioneers, this is not that version. Both versions are on You Tube if you would like to compare and contrast. Nonetheless this is a brilliant very heavy and rootsy song with a fantastic dub version, very rare and very collectible. The vinyl is clean and shiny on both sides and plays well with just the usual surface noise that is always there on Jamaican pressings.This has been repressed latterly but as stated before this is the original 1981 cut, very rare.
