Here for auction is a rare Spanish copy of Amon Düül 2 single “Archangels Thunderbird”, released in 1970 on the Liberty record label.
The 7” contains the opening track from the band’s YETI 2LP, with another excerpt from the same album in the form of ‘Soap Shop Rock” on the B-Side.
The item was purchased in 1977, at Birmingham’s Reddington’s Rare Records, by musician/author Julian Cope – who kept it safe and clean thereafter in a clear outer polythene bag.
Side One’s ‘Archangels Thunderbird’ contains some mild surface noise both at the song’s beginning and after the song’s conclusion.
On Side Two ‘Soap Shop Rock’, the track exhibits some pops at the beginning. Two more small pops appear half way through the track, plus another close to the song’s end.
