Controversial dance pop alternative band Frankie Goes to Hollywood owned 1984. The international smash hit "Relax", which was released in late 1983, become a huge hit in '84. The song appeared on the FORTY year old album 'Welcome to the Pleasuredome', but there were other tracks that are just as good as "Relax". Today we feature another 'Pleasuredome' track, a vintage 12" maxi-single of the song "Two Tribes", and the almost eight minute long 'Carnage' remix, the 'Surrender' mix of "Two Tribes", and the 'Hide Yourself' mix of an old Motown song, recorded first by The Temptations, then made famous by Edwin Starr, called "War". I've added a pic of song titles, credits, and song lengths, as the band has made that kind of confusing on the vinyl and jacket.

The record itself looks good, but with a few surface marks on it. No heavy scratches, gouges, or scuffs. The outer jacket is in great shape, with some light ring-wear and shelf-wear on it. Overall, not looking bad!

Next, we have the 12" picture disc of the song "Power of Love". It's a great song, also from 'Pleasuredome'. It was released around mid November, just in time for the Christmas season, almost exactly forty years ago. (The video is the story of the Nativity.) A very cool 12" picture disc maxi-single for that great song was released, and that's included today. I've added the track listing once again, as it's hard to read exactly what's on here. The vinyl itself looks great, with only a couple of very, very light surface marks on both sides. Nothing bad, and hardly noticeable. No scratches, gouges, or scuffs. This comes in a clear and generic PVC jacket.

I'll also add a 12" interview picture disc for Frankie Goes to Hollywood! The A side is a closeup of singer Holly Johnson, and the B side is the entire band. A side looks really good, with hardly any flaws at all, but the B side has several specks of an unknown substance. (I frequently buy from garage sales and flea markets, and I didn't ask questions!) Not exactly sure, but could be paint spots. Side B (full band side) is not recommended to be played. Side A should be fine to play. I can't vouch for the sound quality of these two picture discs, as I never play specialty vinyl such as pic discs or colored records. This will also come in a clear generic PVC jacket.

We'll end with a 12" X 12" poster flat for the 'Pleasuredome' album! It's about the size of an album. Made from the same kind of cardboard used in an album jacket. No vinyl record. Sent to record shops and radio stations to promote an album. Usually not available to the general public. This is from FORTY years ago! It's one of the album covers (as there were two different covers) for 'Pleasuredome'. This started out as the CD cover (yes, there were CDs in the 80s!), then some subsequent vinyl releases used it as the cover. The back is the classic FGTH logo. Very tiny bit of wear on the corners and spines. No holes, rips, tears, or handwriting anywhere on it. In really great shape!

Frankie say relax. And you can do just that with vintage vinyl and a cool poster flat from Frankie Goes to Hollywood, all from the 80s, and each piece a very cool collectible. Bring Frankie home today, and for a nice price!
