ELVIS PRESLEY - "ON STAGE - FEBRUARY, 1970" (LSP-4362), AN ORIGINAL PRESSING WITH THE FIRST COVER VARIETY FROM 1970!

RECORD:  NM and very glossy with very little evidence of play. This is an original First pressing, rigid vinyl record released in 1970 with matrix numbers 31S/7S. The numbers are stamped on Side 1 and engraved on Side 2 on this Rockaway pressing. The Orange Labels are beautiful with nary a spindle mark to be found!     

COVER:  EXCELLENT with approximately 75% of the shrink wrap remaining. There is virtually no ring wear, due to the cover being protected by so much of the shrink wrap. This cover is the very first variety with no red circle around "Recorded 'On Stage' at the International Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada" on the back (see photo)! It is unknown how many of these were produced, but the vast majority have the red circle around that paragraph. This variety is not even listed in Jerry Osborne's "Presleyana VII", so the true value of this cover is not even known at this time! When the red circle was added later in 1970, RCA Victor did not even bother to place an "RE" on the cover and so it went unnoticed for years before it was finally caught!! The only detraction(s) to this cover are the two corners at the open end. The upper right corner has been bumped a bit hard and the lower corner just exhibits simple wear. There are no seam splits, no writing, no staple holes, and no dreaded tape! Much of the original store stickers remain affixed to the shrink wrap on the front. Aside from the two corners, this cover is fully original and is deserving to be added to a high-end collection of Elvis Presley records and/or memorabilia.
