Legendary recording that started it all. When Marquee Moon was released in February 1977, it received widespread critical acclaim and unexpected commercial success in the United Kingdom, but sold poorly in the United States. The record has since been viewed by critics as one of the greatest albums of all time and a foundational record of alternative rock. Television's innovative post-punk instrumentation on Marquee Moon strongly influenced the indie rock and new wave movements of the 1980s, as well as rock guitarists such as John Frusciante, Will Sergeant, and The Edge. In Rolling Stone, Rob Sheffield called Marquee Moon "one of the all-time classic guitar albums" whose tremulous guitar twang was an inspiration behind bands such as R.E.M. and Joy Division. Patti Smith, Echo & the Bunnymen.
Please Note: After 30 years in the music business I have a giant collection of super high quality albums. Everything I sell is from my personal collection. I WOULD NEVER GRADE A "PLAYED" RECORD AS MINT! I use heavy cardboard box that is specifically designed for vinyl. Will ship in 24 hours, with tracking number that I will send to you. Only $4.00 in USA ! Thanks for checking out all the vinyl.
Bought this awesome album 36 years ago, played a few times! LP is Near Mint with one light surface graze that does not effect playback at all. Mega awesome near mint album, and jacket, shiny new looking. Bought it in 1990 played 2 or 3 times, them in plastic since. Includes the original custom lyrics / picture inner sleeve. Jacket has tiny tiny signs of wear.
