Oscar-Nominated 1983 Soundtrack Restored from Original LP Master & Pressed on Colored 180g Vinyl!
Since Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope was released in 1977, composer John Williams' sweeping, dazzling scores have defined the soaring adventure for all six episodes in the saga. Williams won the Academy Award for Best Original Score for the series' first film and received Oscar nominations for Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983). His Star Wars music has also won four Grammy Awards, two BAFTA Awards and a Golden Globe. Williams continued his association with the Star Wars saga, composing the score for the record setting 2015 reboot Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The soundtrack of Star Wars: Episode VI – The Return of the Jedi will be released by Sony Classical as a limited, gold-colored vinyl edition. The original soundtrack by the legendary five-time Oscar-winning composer features music restored from the original LP master. All audio was transferred using the highest resolution (up to 192kHz/24bit) and is pressed on heavyweight 180g vinyl. Faithfully replicating the original cover art, the release comes complete with the original four-page photo insert.
