This is a very rare mint 1st stereo pressing LP album sealed in plastic bag as shown in posted photos of the John Coltrane Quartet's highly acclaimed album, Ballads, recorded for Impulse Records in 1963, featuring John Coltrane on saxophone, McCoy Tyner on piano, Elvin Jones on drums, and Jimmy Garrison on bass. The stereo pressing of this classic is the rarer of the two formats released, as many more mono pressings were produced than were stereo as the format was just in its early stages and fewer stereo systems were in use, so not as many stereo pressings were pressed and sold. I do not know how many of these are still out there sealed but I would not think many, so grab it while you can.
While the record is mint, the cover is in VG condition. There is corner wear on the bottom right corners of the gatefold cover on front and back sides and the top corner of the pocket side at the mouth of the cover. There is also corner wear on the left bottom of cover. There is also some peeling of the laminate on the back of the cover. The cover seams as well as spine are solid with the LP information clearly readable on spine, except that middle pocket side on the bottom is split about 1 inch. There is some very minor spot seam wear on top and bottom of cover. There is very slight ring wear visible on front and back of cover
The LP is being sold without reserve and payment is expected within 3 days of auction close. Return of the LP will only be accepted if the LP is returned in bag still sealed.
If you bid on and win more than one item shipping for multiple purchases will be adjusted. If you win more than one item do not pay until I have had the opportunity to issue new invoice to reflect the lower shipping cost
I only ship to Paypal confirmed addresses in the United States. Thanks for looking.
Save me as a seller as I have about 250 sealed rare 1960's and 1970's rock, soul, blues and jazz LPs that will be auctioned over the coming months. And then thereafter I will auction open and very clean MFSL and other audiophile pressings, as well as over 200 promos. I will ultimately be auctioning over 7000 very rare and very clean LP albums.
