The Soundtrack is from the first classic zombie film of George A. Romero as they called the first entry in the dead trilogy and the dark one of the three. The film starts with Barbara and his brother Johnny driving to a cemetery to visit there father's grave. Barbara is attack by an old man who is a zombie played by Bill Hinzman and Johnny stands in the middle to help Barbara. He starts to fight the zombie and he push's his head on a tombstone and Barbara runs away into the car. Crashes the car into a tree and runs away from the zombie until she finds refuge in a farmhouse. Then a man with a truck named Ben played by Duane Jones find shelter in the farmhouse. Later in the film they find out there are people hiding in the basement. Ben is left by himself in the end, then dawn comes and the rescue party arrives late to and Ben is shot by one of the Poose members as he is mistaken by being a flesh eating ghoul. But thought he is the only black person in the entire film and the tension between the characters maybe there is a racist statement.
This 15 tracks of the Soundtrack is a edit version as sections were chosen and selected to be in the film. Karl Hardman told an interviewer that the music came from the extensive film music library of WRS Studio. Much of what was used in the film was purchased from Capitol Production Music, the production music library of Capitol Records, and an album of the soundtrack was released at one point. Stock music selections included works by WRS sound tech Richard Lococo, Philip Green, Geordie Hormel, Ib Glindemann, William Loose, John Seely, Jack Meakin and Spencer Moore.Sound effects were created by WRS Studio in Pittsburgh. "Sound engineer Richard Lococo recorded all of the live sound effects used in the film". Lococo recalled, "Of all the sound effects that we created, the one that still gives me goose bumps when I hear it, is Marilyn's screaming as [Helen Cooper] is killed by her daughter. Judy O'Dea's screaming is a close second. Both were looped in and out of echo over and over again".
The music has been featured in TV Shows like Ben Casey, Naked City, and Films like Teenagers From Outer Space (1959), The Hideous Sun Demon (1959), The Devil's Messanger (1961) Starting Lon Chaney Jr.It has never been reissued in this form again with music and dialogue cues again. But In 2010, the record company Zero Day Releasing released the CD They Won't Stay Dead!: Music from the soundtrack of Night of the Living Dead. It features all-new digitally restored audio from original library LPs and reels, they are 40 tracks in total comes in a slip case. If your interested in this you might want to check that out and buy it on the website they still sell it.
The cover is an Excellent condition as it as some wear do to being stored with out a protective plastic sleeve. The record is an Near Mint or Mint- almost appears to be Mint, has some light static when played from beginning to end both sides very light can't even hear the static . The album cover has some issues as on the top it id ripped on the right side, some rip and scratches at the bottom of the cover. The record has some light scratch's I don't see more so it's Mint- condition both sides. The record doesn't comes in a generic paper sleeve but comes with plastic sleeve. The Record doesn't skip on both sides when you play from beginning to end the faint static doesn't not bother the sound of the vinyl. Other then that the label looks clean, record and cover has no writing, tape, moisture damage as it is clean. Remember you are bidding on a Rare out Print hard to find Soundtrack of Night Of The Living Dead. Get it at a low bid while you can this is a most have for a fan of the film, George Romero or a vinyl collector.
This is my record grading standards I use, if you don't agree let me know and I will change it or give me your opinion. If you don't like my grading system then do not bid or think before bidding. When you bid like I said bid with confidence.
RECORD GRADING GUIDELINES FOR VINYL RECORDS:
Mint (M): Perfect. I will only use this for a brand new, sealed item. Near Mint (NM): A nearly perfect record. No obvious signs of wear, though there may be very slight imperfections inherent in the vinyl pressing. Excellent (EX): This is a listing that may not quite be NM, but is just too good to be listed as any variation of “VG”. Very Good Plus (VG+): Record shows some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps not affecting the sound are OK. Label may have some ring wear or discoloration. Very Good (VG): Record may have some light scratches and scuffs that may affect the sound especially in softer passages of the record, but will not overpower the music. There will be no skips in the record. Very Good Minus (VG-): Record will have scratches and scuffs that will affect the sound. The noise will not detract from enjoying the record. Very old records with significant wear will be listed under this classification. There will be no skips in the record.
FOR LP COVERS & 45 & EP SLEEVES:
