An original 1974 Nippon Vertigo press of Sabbath's debut . The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Vertigo/Nippon cover.
Vinyl (Ex+) In fantastic condition and has seen only light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Worth mentioning that the Japanese are renowned for pressing quality and this copy has 'quality' stamped all over it. The audio is, in my opinion, well up there with an original UK Vertigo pressing. Transparency is there by the bag load and the ability to resolve the percussion, in particular, is excellent. Interference is, thankfully, very minimal. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. We didn't detect more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. This copy will suit someone looking for ultimate audio...it is a total knock-out.
Cover (Ex-) Very nice condition and many by this stage will be looking a bit worse for wear. Nice clean unaged front which is creased in the top-right corner. The rear is in well above average condition and has almost totally escaped the usual ageing process. Please note there is tape residue leftover in the top-right on the spine - it just overlaps onto the front. All text on the spine is still legible. Overall the cover still retains great rigidity.
