An original 1st press of Abbey Road on the UK Apple label. Matrix 2/1. Please note the labels make NO mention of 'Her Majesty' as found on all later copies. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse printed cover with the misaligned Apple logo on the rear [this is believed to have been the very 1st cover design]. The very 1st copies of Abbey Road came housed in a black inner sleeve. We don't have an original example, but we do have the next best thing... a poly-lined black replica.
Vinyl (Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only seen very light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. I shouldn't need to remind anyone that a 1st press of Abbey Road well preserved sounds 'out of this world'. Top-level resolution and transparency - a level unobtainable on any other pressing. Even the quieter tracks on side 2 of this LP play CLEAN! Interference is, thankfully, almost non-existent. We didn't detect more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. Certainly one of the best copies I've auditioned. And, quite frankly, if you're not knocked out by this copy there must be something wrong with you! FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex) In absolutely remarkable condition considering it will be 50 years old very shortly. Nice shiny front with only the very lightest signs of use. The rear is in great condition too with barely a crease - this is very unusual. Edge wear is super-light and the spine is pretty much entirely intact and all text legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and has the feel of an 'almost' new cover. Truly impressive...
Inner (Ex) Replica - grading kind of irrelevant.
