Please note this listing is for a stereo record with a mono cover. Do take a closer look, though, as the preservation levels on this copy will more than make up for any technical mismatch...
An original 1st stereo press of 'SELL OUT' on the UK track label from Nov 1967. Matrix 2/1. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Ernest J Day 'mono' cover. Difficult to say whether the switch took place at the time or later. But one thing is very clear and that's that LP+cover+inner are all genuine and consistent with 1st release in autumn 1967. The inner sleeve is date coded to '117' which implies a print date of Nov 1967 - the 1st month of release.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of marks either side - nothing heavy though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetwens are very quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. At 50+ years old these original copies do not tend to surface often looking and playing clean. Thanks to very light use you will be treated to an impressive rendition. We are taking clean playback right through with minimal interference. Perhaps a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots. And then there's the deviation which is audible in 'Cant Reach You' - midway through you'll get about 4 light and brief pops. Providing you can live with that aberration the rest of the LP will knock your socks off...
Cover (Ex+) Truly stunning copy and more than makes up for the format mismatch [which, by the way, is about as minor as you could possibly find on a 60's Lp]. These original 60's copies nearly always surface with ageing and heavy creasing - or worse still ..both! But this example is certainly one of the best I've ever witnessed. Lovely shiny front without ageing and barely a crease on her. The rear is equally as impressive. Edge wear really is very slight for this title and the openings are still sharp. The spine is totally intact - perfect. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and totally belies its relative age. FINAL UPGRADE
Inner (Ex-) A couple of creases. No splits or markings.
