An original Q1 1972 Led Zeppelin IV. These transitional copies come literally weeks after the last Red & Plum copies. Note how, in the dead-wax, you can make out the new Kinney catalogue number K50008, but on both sides you also have the original red & plum matrix info and cataolgue number [2401012/A3&B4]. They're still referring to "Misty Mountain Hop" as 'Mountain Top'...The audio cut on these early transitional copies is by none other than George Peckham "Porkie" and is effectively the same as on those last few red & Plum copies - excellent provenance. Also included is the original lyric inner and the original cover. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg+/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. A couple of lightest marks - nothing remotely close to being troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, VERYGOOD+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Some lovely audio rolling off this early copy. Not much to take umbridge with...the upbeat tracks play absolutely great. You're going to get a touch of light static here and there in the quieter moments - e.g. those famous low-key tracks. Nothing invasive and they are still thoroughly enjoyable. A very nicely preserved early copy which gets you access to that 'red & plum' audio...without having to mortgage the house!
Cover (Ex-) In lovely condition and has clearly been cared for down the years. Clean exterior with only a ccouple of light patches of wear. The interior is immaculate. The spine is fine with lightest wear. Openings are still harp. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Almost immaculate apart from one tiny <1c.m. split. Very clean surfaces.
