~~~~~ I've been going thru my massive vinyl record collection this summer and pulling out some LPs that I thought that someone else would want for their collection. I've been collecting records for over 40 years and it's time to pass some of them on to the next generation of collectors.
This week on EBay I am offering up my nice, clean, original Gold Stamped Promotional pressing of the Soundtrack to "Where the Buffalo Roam" which features some great vocals and guitar work by Neil Young.
This is my original copy that I've taken great care of for many years.

This is a very clean original Gold Stamped Promo copy of the first, and only, pressing of this great album. The vinyl looks fantastic, the labels are clean, and the spindle holes show almost no evidence of play. An amazingly clean copy.
The only flaws are some very mild ring wear above the word 'Buffalo' on the front cover and the corners are a little 'bumped' from being moved around my record shelves for so many years. Other than that it looks terrific. See the many pictures I posted. They are of the actual LP that I'm listing. The black 'ink' splotches on the back cover are part of the design, not marks on the jacket.

If you are a fan of Neil Young and his wild interpretations of iconic Americana anthems, then this is a must have for your collection.
The album has several Neil Young tunes but also contains classic tracks from Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, as well as some great vintage Motown.
The film was scored by Neil Young with original works including: "Buffalo Stomp" - Neil Young w/ The Wild Bill Band Of Strings "Home Home On The Range" - Neil Young "Ode To Wild Bill # 1, #2, #3 and #4" - Neil Young "Buffalo Stomp Refrain" - Neil Young w/ The Wild Bill Band Of Strings
The best Neil Young song on this album is Neil's string quartet arrangement of "Home on the Range" (Buffalo Stomp # 4) as it fades perfectly into "Purple Haze"
If you're a Beatles fan, there is also Bill Murray's crazed rendition of "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds". 
Neil's Score for the film is excellent. Moody and haunting, like many of the best Neil Young songs. There's some heavy guitar work on this soundtrack.
This album has not had any real re-release on vinyl since it's 1980 release.
In this zany, party filled film, Bill Murray plays famed “gonzo” journalist Hunter S. Thompson. It's a semi-biographical tale structured around fabled moments in Thompson’s own life and his adventures with his buddy Carl Lazlo (Peter Boyle), a fictional stand-in for the real Oscar “Zeta” Acosta.

That kinda sums up the movie. The music is great!
~~~~~ Listening to this album today, there's something fresh to hear in Neil's raw voice and rawer guitar work. It's one of the great, 'overlooked' Neil Young albums and hard to find, especially as a promo copy. It's power and resonance are still timeless.
Add this classic, Neil Young soundtrack album to your collection today. It would make a great addition to any vinyl record collection.
