Continuing here a sale run of rare, top-choice audiophile disks at V.S.O.V. (Stay Tuned for More!), on offer now is a Near-Mint copy of the famous and coveted Chesky album (RC8) featuring a reissue of the celebrated early RCA Living Stereo recording (1960) of the inimitable Earl Wild and the swaggering Arthur Fielder doing George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" and "American in Paris." In their day, these were epic performances/recordings. Penguin Guide awarded 3 Stars and still salutes "Wild's playing full of energy and brio." Exactly right. Chesky Records prided itself on offering superlative Audiophile re-issues of the very highest technical refinement and did so by adroitly conveying pure, re-mixed stereo tracks direct from pre-amp to disk-cutting lathe. These unfiltered, ultra-clear stereo tracks were then preserved on highest-grade, heavy-weight vinyl creating a record to treasure and audition for eons. This disk (RC8 in the Chesky Catalog) was first issued in 1984 and this exemplar is first edition with first pressings. Desk deadwax hand engraved RE1 (Side 1) and RE1 (Side 2). A certain audiophile rarity! Jacket is also Near-Mint. Not a Cut-Out. Inner, plastic-lined paper sleeve is Original and Perfect as well.
