THE SONIC DAWN has recently established a name for themselves in the psychedelic underground. Known for their energetic live performances and distinctive sound, The Sonic Dawn incorporates elements from the psychedelic music of the late 60s with their own atmospheric vibes. A mix between a ’68 biker movie soundtrack and that summer of love vibe in a dreamy psychedelic soundscape. That’s just about how The Sonic Dawn’s music feels.

The Sonic Dawn saw the light of day in late 2013, when the three childhood friends Emil Bureau (guitar, lead vocals), Jonas Waaben (drums) and Neil Bird (bass guitar) joined forces. The group was initially known as The Mind Flowers, but changed the name to avoid legal issues in the U.S., where the trademark is owned
by Ultimate Spinach’s former producer.

After the first live show in January 2014 The Sonic Dawn attracted the attention of the psych label Levitation Records and the 7-inch single ‘Down the Line’ was released in May same year. A song inspired by Roky Erickson’s (13th Floor Elevators) personal story.
Live shows have been a great priority right from the start. The Sonic Dawn has shared the stage with artists like Baby Woodrose (DK), Birth of Joy (NL), Death Hawks (FI), Vibravoid (DE), White Hills (US) and more.
October 2015 saw the world-wide release of the debut album ‘Perception’ on Nasoni Records, an audiophile psych/stoner label based in Berlin, to be followed by the band’s most extensive international concert tour so far, starting December 2015. As an album Perception is a call for running wild and living free. It seeks to make you stop and appreciate the beautiful things in life, and break loose from all chains that prevent you from doing so.
Expect an album full of twangy guitars, dreamy vocals and groovy rhythms. Several tracks feature the immensely talented organist Erik ‘Errka’ Petersson of Siena Root (SE) ( ). A wise woman once said, “if I can’t dance, it’s not my revolution”. Fortunately there is plenty of dancing, lust and love in The Sonic Dawns universe… Take the ride?

Side A peaks like a hippy in the desert staring at melting clouds on mushrooms while Side B rides into the sonic dawn on a drunken pale horse tripping on rings of smoke. For fans of The Golden Grass, Graveyard, The Lone Crows, etc. (magnificentmusic.de)
