Wild, pure, muscular, driving freakbeat garage rock at its absolute finest from the golden era of the genre! This is the real deal as those who seek this highly rare LP will know, and rare too in the sense that many of these classic Australian bands weren’t given the opportunity to record and release full length LPs – The In-Sect did and here it is in simply stunning, near archive condition!! This sits, along with other then suburban local, hidden and now rightly reappraised, world-class releases by bands like The Throb, The Wild Cherries, Barrington Davis, Tol Puddle Martyrs (see below LP too!), The Loved Ones, Black Diamonds, The Missing Links, Steve and the Board, The Blue Beats, The Bucket, Birds, Pink Finks, Masters Apprentices, Purple Hearts…this is part of that extraordinary legacy of Australian garage rock that had our own freakbeat, fuzzed out, nasty grindingly dirty R’n’R-via-the-antipodean sound. Check out the In-Sect singles online, they are so good, this is unadulterated garage rock, fast and brutal, as good as anything that came out from the States at the time.

A-Sides ticks every box, a super rare record, top quality tracks, and never turns up rare condition. W & G, Spin and Festival released much of this stuff but as noted very little went into full length albums, almost all of the singles and albums from this era are stupidly rare, this is no exception. But the W & G pressings are incredible, heavyweight vinyl platters, unsurpassed in their quality and weight, always amazing to hold, even heavily trashed albums play well – but this copy, exquisite, I think it has literally been played twice, once by its original owner, and once by me….

AND I’ve added 3 (!!!) bonus records – Masters Apprentices, essential compendium of one of Australia’s greatest rock bands from this era,“The Scene from Northern Victoria”, not in such great nick, but still very hard to find and although not a great grade plays really well – it has a very relevant garage link, check out Claudette Jones by Peter & the Silhouettes – sooo good, they then became the Tol Puddle Martyrs!, its a total monster of a song as was there later garage work! Amazing compilation of rare garage rockers, twee pop and straight ahead cuts ‘of its time’ goodness…PLUS Oz Rock Classics including The Loved Ones, The Cherokees, The Henchmen… NM!

Excuse the high reserve, the In-sect is THE final upgrade, keeper, archive copy, I paid a lot for it for a trade that fell over, hence moving this beauty on, I’d love to keep but can’t…

In-Sect:

Cover ~ EX ~ un-laminated, matte embossed, crème coloured cover is notoriously hard to find in mint condition but this is plainly as nice as you will ever find, literally 2-3 copies in the past 15 years look to be maybe better than this, very mild softening/age wear of seams and corners, very mild front-press/ringwear marks from being untouched in storage for 50 years, front graphics are so sharp, back is as close to new as you will ever see!

Vinyl ~ NM ~ luminous shine, incredible, you will simply never see a better copy, played 1-2 times only, spectacular archive condition!

Masters Apprentices:

Cover ~ VG++ ~ very nice

Vinyl ~ VG+ ~ almost VG++, lovely shine, mild dusting of hairlines under strong light

The Scene:

VG ~ seen better days, see pics

VG- ~ lots of marks, some feelable but has minimal impact on playback which is a very solid VG+!

Oz Rock Classics:

NM/NM - !

As always hassle free returns and money back, if you are unhappy in any way please email me, I’m an avid collector I try my best to list accurately, play graded and graded under strong light, please leave feedback after, cheers!

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

NM: Played a handful of times, several of the faintest hairlines only, perfect sound, full gloss and sheen, cover near new in every way.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, tiniest dusting of superficial hairlines only, playback near perfect. The cover and packaging might have very slight wear/most minor cosmetic wear only.

VERY GOOD+: Perfectly acceptable, plays with no skips or jumps, no feelable marks. Hairlines, and other superficial scratches may be evident on the vinyl but sound quality and fidelity still excellent, may have the odd pop and crackle only. Cover will have normal wear, seams and corners in tact, some age deterioration.

VERY GOOD:The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch, some may be feelable but will not sound in repeat-tic manner. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable, may have minor seam or other tears but still acceptable integrity.

GOOD:The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and feelable scratches that may tic or jump. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR:The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, jump etc. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced. Collector piece only.
