Monstrously rare New Zealand progressive hard rock album by Ticket, hugely and rightly sought after along with Spacefarm, Taylor, Serenity, Mantis etc – this is the first, original, Down Under New Zealand pressing in the classic ‘flipback’ laminated sleeve. This is truly one of the hardest rock albums from Australia or NZ from this period, and in keeping with NZ being just that bit more hidden at times which allowed for some truly unique music to come from their shores during this time. This sold in tiny quantities at the time – it is the perfect mix of being rare in numbers, and rare in quality – a must for progressive rock fans the world over. It has several bases covered, prog, hard-rock, acid-rock and psych flourishes at times, if ever a cover was representative of what’s inside, then the stunning artwork does the trick here – this album is the real deal, a huge beast! – its progressive in the best sense, taking the best of the era and pushing it further, this is an important rock document that was meant to blow your mind….PLUS(!) Ive added Tully’s progressive pastoral masterpiece Sea of Joy, it sits nicely beside Ticket in terms of genre pushing, underground, antipodean progressive sounds, different of course, but both have that unique, isolated sound that came from these records at that time, really special. PLUS PLUS(!!) I’ve thrown in an incredible, essential, original first press set from the Festival vaults, near impossible to own all the originals here, this is the benchmark compilation, long deleted, includes a who’s who of Australian progressive rock, acid folk, antipodean blues and radical pop:

Pastoral Symphony - Love machine/ Dave Miller Set - Mr. Guy Fawkes/ Heart & Soul - Lazy life/ Erl Dalby & Pyramid - Can’t wait for September/ Phil Jones & the Unknown Blues - If I had a ticket/ King Fox - Unforgotten dreams/ Valentines - Perculiar hole in the sky/ Procession - Listen/ Running Jumping Standing Still - Diddy wah diddy/ Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs - Good morning little schoolgirl/ Wild Cherries - Krome plated tabby/ Bay City Union - Mo’reen/ Chain - Mr. Time/ Mecca - Black Sally/ Jeff St. John & Yama - Nothing is easy/ Doug Parkinson in Focus - I had a dream/ Rockwell T. James & The Rhythm Aces - Love power/ Samael Lilith - Nights in white satin/ Cleves - Sticks and stones/ The Affair - Shoeshine boy/ Velvet Underground - Somebody to love/ Clapham Junction - Emily on Sunday/ The Clik - Mary, Mary/ Melissa - Mississippi mama/ Elmtree - Lonely nights/ Sherbet - Crimson ships/ Ram Jam Big Band - Sunshine and I feel fine/ Love Machine - The lion sleeps tonight/ Iguana - California, may way/ New Dream - Groupie/ White Whine - The train song/ Lloyd’s World - Brass bird/ James taylor Move - Magic eyes/ Cam-Pact - Drawing room/ Questions - Something wonderful.

Ticket, original NZ first press:

Cover ~ EX+ ~ in top shape, front graphics shine, glossy laminate in tact, tight corners and seams display only the most minimal wear, some very mild ring wear also evident, a very small stain on front will likely come off easily

Vinyl ~ VG+ ~ nice gloss and sheen still evident but has been played, displays hairlines and other fine scratches, as well as several more notable, but these are all ‘soft’, entirely superficial and don’t tick or jump at all, there is mild static in the softer passages but nothing that interferes with the music at all ~ a very rare record at a good price!

Tully, original first Australian pressing

Cover ~ VG+ ~ embossed sleeve has mild age wear, mild pressing smudges/press wear, overall very nice integirty

Vinyl ~ VG+ ~ has a nice glossy sheen overall, but has several ‘soft’ scratches that don’t sound and are entirely superficial, cosmetic only, from start to finish sound is great and near faultless, this was my loved copy until a recent upgrade

So You Wanna be a Rock n Roll Star, original first press:

Cover ~ NM ~ like new!!!

Vinyl ~ (x2) ~NM/NM ~ looks unplayed – stunning condition, won’t find better!!!

As always hassle free returns and money back, if you are unhappy in any way please email me, I’m an avid collector I try my best to list accurately, play graded and graded under strong light, please leave feedback after, cheers!

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

NM: Played a handful of times, several of the faintest hairlines only, perfect sound, full gloss and sheen, cover near new in every way.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, tiniest dusting of superficial hairlines only, playback near perfect. The cover and packaging might have very slight wear/most minor cosmetic wear only.

VERY GOOD+: Perfectly acceptable, plays with no skips or jumps, no feelable marks. Hairlines, and other superficial scratches may be evident on the vinyl but sound quality and fidelity still excellent, may have the odd pop and crackle only. Cover will have normal wear, seams and corners in tact, some age deterioration.

VERY GOOD:The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch, some may be feelable but will not sound in repeat-tic manner. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable, may have minor seam or other tears but still acceptable integrity.

GOOD:The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and feelable scratches that may tic or jump. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR:The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, jump etc. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced. Collector piece only.
