THE BEATLES "RARITIES"~ PROMOTIONAL LP SPRO-8969 ~ USA CAPITOL ~ LIMITED 1st PRESSING WITH 2 SONG ERRORS + FREE SHIPPING

This PROMOTIONAL SPRO 8969 BEATLES compilation of "RARITIES” in a Blue Paper Sleeve was released by Capitol in 1978. This promotional copy of “RARITIES” SPRO 8969 contains 17 tracks.   

What makes this copy very "rare" (I hate using that word) is that it is from the very first pressing of only 3000 copies before Capitol realized there are two mistakes in this initial compilation. The songs; "She Loves You" and "I Want To Hold Your Hand" were supposed to be the German versions recorded by the BEATLES. The English versions are certainly not anyway near being part of a "rarities" compilation. The fact this limited run version has these two "mistakes" makes it a much sought after album as only 3,000 copies were pressed before the songs were revised.  

Grading conservatively using a full spectrum light; the vinyl is Near Mint! I don't believe it’s ever been played. The labels as you can see in the photos also look perfect but are still Near Mint. The printed paper sleeve has NO: splits, tears, writing, or stickers. There is a small amount of ring wear, a record impression and a very thin 1.5” scratch that runs through the “a” in RARITIES. Conservatively grading I would say this sleeve is; VG++.  

Before shipping I place records in a thick PVC sleeve protector. All records are shipped in specially made new corrugated LP packaging, which has 200 lb. Burst Test Strength. In addition, for further protection the LP is further placed between a minimum of two pieces of new corrugated 12” x 12” protectors made from the same material as the shipping package (200 lb Burst).

In my opinion, there is nothing worse than finally getting that item you've been looking for only to find it has been damaged during shipping due to packing in used or sub-standard materials.
