In early 1967 Jimi Hendrix experience made a series of appearances on London’s legendary BBC Radio, then a vanguard of European Rock. These sessions were lovingly preserved for posterity by the BBC staff and then issued in this unsurpassed, audiophile form on vinyl in 1988, with a CD version issued a few years later. Both of these versions have been out of print for years now, although the album was later replaced by the drastically different "Jimi Hendrix estate" version under the title "BBC Sessions" in 1996. What makes this item unique is four things: This album came out in RYKO’s now-legendary "Analogue" Series (the cover says in one place that this is a digitally mastered album, but in TWO (2) other places that this is an ANALOGUE pressing, so we must assume that this is an analogue pressing) (2) it is still sealed in its original loose plastic baggy (3) this version came out on a colorless, transparent, high-grade virgin vinyl and (4) This album utilized the best mastering and pressing technology (DMM - Direct Metal Mastering) for optimal sound. As such, it is far superior to the "BBC Sessions" album which was later issued by the Hendrix estate. And, needless to say, chances of you finding a sealed copy of this title any time soon are about as big as meeting Jimi Hendrix in person. (c)             The records are  apparently pressed on a RELATIVELY  thick, inflexible vinyl. This is NOT a thin, flimsy ('dynaflex' type),  vinyl, but not the thickest, most rigid vinyl, either.

 

(d)          Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!! (THE COVER CLEARLY SHOWS A SPARS CODE A-A-A  ON THE BACK)
