This is a fine U.K. pressing copy of the other fourth LP by Scottish group Simple Minds, released in 1981. The record was originally released together with the LP, Sons and Fascination; the two LPs were subsequently issued separately. This copy has the original catalog number (OVED 2) and custom labels, but the "Special Low Price" sticker added to copies sold separately, so I presume it is from the batch that was issued soon after the promotion. The group's first few records were darker and more experimental than the more commercial mid- to late '80s material familiar to American audiences ("Don't You (Forget About Me)" et al.). This LP and Sons saw the group adopting a brighter sound, as epitomized here by the single "The American." Like most of the group's early records, Sister wasn't released in the U.S. at the time. The jacket is close to pristine with a ½” tear on the top seam and a light crease running along the spine on the back cover (M-). The disc is clean with a little light scuffing on side 2, and plays with minimal surface noise (M-).
I
am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two
decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate
from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have
play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
