COLH 74 Cortot Thibaud Franck & Faure Violin Sonatas HMV Great Recordings Series.
Alfred Cortot and Jaques Thibaud (piano and violin) play Sonatas by Cesar Franck and Gustave Fauré. Recorded in 1927 and 1929, these were transfered to LP format in 1958. This is the first English pressing from 1958, I believe there would be a French version that would slightly pre date this.
There is a booklet included with the record, and unusually, the single sleeve has separate compartments for the record and the booklet.
Visualy the record is in excellent condition with no scratches playing the record reveals a little bit of light static noise but not very much at all and to say this is a transfer from early recordings I was surprised by the fidelity.
