Benny Carter was one of the most versatile men in jazz.  He ranks right up there with Hodges and Parker among the music's finest alto saxophonists.  Many consider his 1959 album 'Jazz Giant'  on the Contemporary Records label ( LAC 12188) as one of his most accessible and enduring records. It is a terrific small-group record, full of imagination and invention, and the interchanges with Ben Webster are superb.
The copy I am offering is a 1st UK Mono pressing and has outstanding audio....clear, loud, detailed, and distortion-free.  I can honestly say that you have not heard this album until you have heard this pressing.  It may be found with some effort but finding it in Near Mint condition is another matter. 
Condition of Lp Jacket: Excellent- ......considering it's age, it is in truly remarkable condition. Colors are vivid and striking.... The only issue worth mentioning is some laminate lift and scuffing at the entrance and some wear to the thin spine.  Aside from this there is little to fault....the lamination to the front and back still shine beautifully and the print along the spine are fully legible. Flipbacks are near-perfect and only show minor wear.  
Original Poly-lined Inner-Sleeve: Excellent
Condition of Record: Excellent ~ Near Mint ....superb gloss to both sides of the heavy vinyl.....some light hairlines and marks can be seen under strong light but have little or almost no bearing to the sensational audio. Plays with very little surface noise.  Both labels are near-perfect.  A superb vintage copy of a classic jazz album.
