THIS RECORD IS FROM OUR PERSONAL COLLECTION. Well maintained. Very Rare.

*Because our clients are mostly jazz collectors and connoisseurs, as we are, we made it our policy to only sell vinyl that we grade in VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) condition or better. This vinyl is in our opinion a Near Mint, looks and plays great.

Record Grade VG++  = Very well maintained. The vinyl is in beautiful condition. The vinyl is stunning with only 2 minor scratches that have no effect on sound.. Just listened to both sides of the whole album with headphones on and it plays beautiful, little to no surface noise at all. Amazing condition and quality. Shiny vinyl. Difficult to find this rare vintage record in such great condition. (see pictures)

Jacket Grade VG+ = Shiny, clean, well maintained. No staining. No writing. Has been kept in plastic since we bought it new in 1962. One owner. minor corner dents in jacket from regular use. A very clean jacket for a 60 year old album. It comes with the original 1962 inner sleeve. (see pictures)

Contemporary Records was a jazz record label founded by Lester Koenig in 1951 in Los Angeles. Koenig maintained extremely high audio standards. He hired Roy DuNann from Capitol Records in 1956, who, out of the label’s shipping room turned studio, turned out some of the best sounding records of the time.

Jimmy Woods (born October 29, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri) is an American jazz alto saxophonist.

Woods played with the R&B band of Homer Carter in 1951, and served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He played with Roy Milton after his discharge, and was with Horace Tapscott in 1960 and Joe Gordon in 1961. Following this he played with Gerald Wilson (1963) and Chico Hamilton (1964-1965).
