I use the Record Collector grading system and grade reggae records the same as I would a classical, Rock or jazz record, I have been looking through some reggae singles on Ebay and some sellers seem to make theirown gradings up for reggae records, for example one I have just read grades records in GOOD condition as "Record has many marks and scratches and will effect play and sound terrible, record might be cracked", a GOOD record from me will have surface/ llight scratches but will certainly not sound terrible, it will have some light crackle and maybe a few light pops but will still be very enjoyable to hear, If i had a record that sounded terrible or was cracked I would grade it Poor.
