Visual grading

The first vinyl is in great condition and still has a lovely glossy sheen.  There are only a 2/3 faint hairlines on each side plus one small scuff mark on S1 but this has no affect on the audio.  The second vinyl does have a few more hairlines but they are only faint and there are certainly no scratches.  For a first pressing they are genuinely in excellent condition and with no visible spindle wear you won't see many better.
Play grading

'Custard Pie' has no lead in static so you're already thinking you're onto a winner!  The opening track does not disappoint and plays with wonderful clarity.  This quality continues throughout.  'In My Time Of Dying' begins superbly with only the lightest of static on the very quiet intro.  There is one pop type sound although I can't see the reason why as the vinyl is very clean so maybe is a pressing fault.  The remainder of the track plays in superlative style and is a great listen.
S2 equals the standard of before.  There is no unwanted 'background' and the depth and warmth of the sound is stunning.  The classic 'Kashmir' is a fine example of this and is without doubt one of the best versions I have ever heard.  There are no clicks, pops or jumps and it plays with sublime audio for a vinyl of over 40 years.
'In The Light' begins with some background static and a couple of light clicks plus one pop but to be honest it isn't that intrusive and still plays very clearly for the majority.  Once the guitar riffs kick in the sound is of excellent quality with only a touch of intermittent static thereafter.  The quiet 'Bron-Yr-Aur' has wonderful audio with only a minor hint of static.  The final two tracks have overall excellent audio with just minor distortion on the top end perhaps.  'Ten Years Gone' has many quiet sections but by and large they play extremely well with only very light static here and there, 4 to 5 light 'ticks' towards the end.
The audio across S4 is once more of an excellent standard.  There are no clicks or pops just some ubiquitous light static but is only sporadic.  There is nothing intrusive and I reiterate for a first pressing the sound quality does not disappoint.  Not perfect but a very impressive listen nonetheless.
Cover
This cover as per the first pressings has the 484 Kings Road address printed on the back and the red lettering printed on one of the spines.  So often you will find the edges and corners badly damaged or a 'window' or two torn but not here!  Only the bottom right corner has what you would call obvious wear.  It has some creasing which you can also see on the reverse side.  The edges are generally very clean which again is a rarity and the opening edge has only light handling wear.  The front cover is very clean with no marking, the back cover just has a couple of minor marks, light creasing and some light rubbing on the top edge but is definitely cleaner than so many you see.
Fold-over 'credits' sleeve + Inner picture sleeves
The fold-over credits sleeve is in excellent condition with one small on the bottom right corner and a couple of tiny age related marks by the top edge.
The inner sleeves are in great shape but again they both have a crease on one corner.  This cover was obviously dropped at some point causing this creasing.  There are no splits anywhere.  They both have the catalogue number followed by A and B on one side of each sleeve respectively.
The labels
They are both in Mint condition with no markings/writing and no spindle wear either.
