Originally released on Capitol (T-2458). Includes liner notes by Brian Wilson, David Leaf and Mark Linett. This is more than just an album by a great American band; it's THE great American pop album, an ambitious foray into the intricacies of harmony and melody. Masterminded by Brian Wilson, it changed the rules in rock & roll. Wilson's production brought record-making to a new level. He perfected Phil Spector's wall-of-sound into a more complex, stunning approach. He was inspired by the Beatles' RUBBER SOUL, and PET SOUNDS was, in turn, an inspiration for SGT. PEPPER. The devoutly romantic "God Only Knows" and the hopeful "Wouldn't It Be Nice" reflect an innocent time of yearning post-adolescence. From the complex upward progressions of "You Still Believe In Me" to the heartbeat bass of "Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder)," Wilson paid attention to every nanosecond of sound. The traditional folk song "Sloop John B," with its thickly interwoven vocals, was a major hit for the band, but PET SOUNDS' astonishing power comes from its less familiar songs. The shifting moods and devious instrumentation of "I'm Waiting For The Day" and the revealing "I Just Wasn't Made For These Times" are further testaments to Wilson's tortured genius. Wilson has said that angels were overseeing the production of PET SOUNDS; there is no doubt about it! Produced by Brian Wilson

We Care About What We Ship!

All our LPS are shipped double boxed and with additional internal protection to protect your LPS as much as possible from damage in shipping. This includes a layer of bubble insulation under the inner box to protect the LP from heat. Shipping an LP in a flimsy mailer is not acceptable, especially for today's heavier LPS, and a mailer not only subjects the LP to obvious damage, but also allows the splines of the LPS to weaken, which can accelerate the splines splitting in the future from your own use. We'd rather make sure you get your LPs in perfect condition to begin with than play the odds with the USPS.
All our LPS are stored in a climate controlled environment, not a blistering hot warehouse somewhere which is horrible for the LPs causing warping no matter if they're 150 gram, 180 gram, or 200 gram.
US RECORDING will, for free, unseal and remove the LP itself from the jacket to absolutely prevent seam splits in shipping if you immediately ask us to after payment. This is guaranteed preventable damage if you simply ask us to do it. (This is the proper way to ship LPS anyway.) Once we unseal this item for you, however, it is not returnable.
US RECORDING NEVER reseals and resells any returns as new, and this is our pledge and ALL our LPS are factory sealed.   Many LP retailers are a revolving door of unsealed *defective* returns and what we feel is the questionable practice of reselling their returns that they reseal as new items. Just about every mass retailer does this practice, because they cannot return LPS to the manufacturers anymore.  This may be another reason why they won't show an actual photo of the LPS they are shipping, because there will be stickers missing from the resealed LPs.  We show our own photos BOTH FRONT AND BACK of actual copies of what you will be shipped so there should be no question what you will be getting, stickers and all.
ALWAYS wet clean all new LPs before their first use to remove record sleeve dust and other particles from manufacturing. We recommend Lasermedia VNC-4  Vinyl Record Cleaner because it does the job well without harmful solvents like alcohol or worse which can damage the plasticizers in the vinyl making it noisy and prone to wear..
Disclaimer:  The product images shown are US Recording Media photos of a copy of the item for sale, but are not actual photos of the actual individual item you will be sent and there may be additional record company applied stickers, stickers may be in different places than what are shown, or there may be no stickers at all but almost always you will get the same stickers although their placement may be a little different. It depends on the whim of the record company and the pressing plant.   If stickers are an issue to you, as a collector, please contact us before ordering. There may also be a stock image shown for reference, to get a better idea what the cover art is without the shrink wrap/LP bag and stickers, if any but it is for REFERENCE ONLY and may be different from the actual LP photos. PLEASE REVIEW THE PHOTOS BEFORE MAKING A DECISION TO BUY. You can zoom in and read anything on the front or back, just like you were holding it in your hand. We can only guarantee the photos represent what we are shipping, as our photos may not apply to other retailers even if the title is the same.
