Released in 2000, Daisies of the Galaxy was Eels’ third studio album. A slightly more upbeat effort following the harrowing Electro-Shock Blues, the record spawned many of the band’s most popular songs in the likes of The Sound of Fear, Flyswatter, I Like Birds and Mr E’s Beautiful Blues. Even so, with devastating moments like It’s a Motherfucker and Selective Memory, it’s easy to see why legendary producer Lenny Waronker likened it to "a nice walk in the park, where you're occasionally bitten by a snake."
