Descendents. All. SST Records(SST 112). 1987.
All is considered by many fans to be the zenith of the Descendents' discography, and for good reason. We could get into semantics, sure--I Don't Want To Grow Up (my all time favorite Descendents record) has a slightly more desperate air and a heavier surf influence, and Milo Goes to College has its own place in history as the album that brought us the songs Bikeage and Suburban Home. But All is the album you think of when you hear someone mention the Descendents, even if you know nothing about the band. It's got Milo Aukerman's signature introspection (the thesis of each songs seems to be "I'm not sure that I'm a great guy, but I'm doing my best to be happy, and it's not going so well") and pairs it with the band's unabashed immaturity. And the individual tracks: where to start? Clean Sheets is indisputably my favorite, but there's also Pep Talk, Van, and, lest we forget, Coolidge.
Conditions Rated: Cover 6 or VG+ high gloss cover with  edge wear and corner bumps, cut on corner upper right, picture insert included, no bar code///Record 8 or EX+ black and shiny, plays great loud.
