THIRD ALBUM from the master of theatrical hard rock featuring some of Alex Harvey's greatest conceptual theme including the rise of 'Vambo' the inner city super hero that would continue his presense in the SAHB cannon for years to come. Truly at the cutting edge of 'art rock' Alex Harvey was a man for whom few boundaries existed musically or lyrically. Embracing fringe musical styles he fused them into the SAHB hard rock machine resulting in a style that was not only unique but also wildly futuristic. 

And that voice! Singing in a thick Scottish broque set him apart from the thousands of copycat chest beaters and opened up yet another wide angle perspective on this wonderful talent. With solid musical support from the band including Zal Cleminson's thrusting guitar riffs and skull blasting solos the emphasis was always on how to dazzle rather than simply shine.

The songs on this album are legendary but what you get is the double trouble delivery of 'The Hot City Symphony: Part 1 - Vambo & Part 2 - The Man In The Jar'. Look out for the venomous riffage of 'Sergeant Fury, the brilliant 'Long Hair Music' and the killer 'Tomahawk Kid' amongst others of equal weight and stature.

Truly one of the most amazing albums and acts of the era. I throughly recommend if you haven't heard it before.

Grades as MINT-!
