The Beatles, Please Please Me, Mono PMC 1202 vinyl record. This is a fourth pressing featuring all the known identifiers: Black Labels with Yellow Parlophone and silver writing. "The Parlophone Co. ..." and "Recording First Published ..." written on the labels but without the "Sold in the U.K. ..." text. Dick James credit for "Please Please Me". And an E. J. Day flipback sleeve with Angus McBean photo credit. Please see below for description of the condition.
Sleeve: Good+
Comes with original Ernest J. Day flipback sleeve with large mono to the front. If you're the sort of person that likes a bit of character in a record this sleeve is for you. It has been well used, with a twice repaired rip across the entire length of the bottom of the rear of the sleeve and a smaller repair of a similar nature to the top. Someone obviously got a bit too excited listening to it but didn't want to throw it away! The front, however, looks great (hence the +): very clean with the original glossy finish and bright colours. The corners are alright, some rounding, and the spine is OK - still readable but has lost the sharpness to the edge.    Inners: Very Good
Comes with original period lined inner which details how to care for a record. It has slightly yellowed over time and has the odd crease in the corners but still does a job. Additionally, a new, anti-static inner sleeve is provided which the record is stored in.
Disc: Excellent
This is where the party starts. The disc is great, really great. Both sides retain the original gloss finish and come with remarkably few marks to both sides. The sound is fantastic, really clear, with great clarity to vocals, guitars and percussion alike. The labels are clean, without writing and without too much spindle wear. Little else to say. All songs play without distortion, with minimal background noise and with no skips, jumps or pops. A time machine back to 1963 - a really enjoyable listen.
A record full of character which has been enjoyed by its previous owners and which I'm sure will be enjoyed by the next.
Vinyl will be sent in a polythene outer sleeve within a padded vinyl record mailer.
