The Beatles, Help. Mono PMC 1255. 1st Pressing with all identifiers present including: Black Labels with Yellow Parlophone and Silver Writing, "The Gramophone Co. ... ", "Sold in U.K. ...", "1965" all written on the labels and Matrix Numbers XEX 549-2 & XEX 550-2. This is a really nice copy of one of the Beatles earliest recordings.
Sleeve: Very Good
The original Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve looks great. The spine is sharp and clear and the corners are good with only slight rounding. The front is very clean with only very subtle yellowing due to age. The laminate has come of in three small areas towards the bottom, there is an indentation of the lettering "109" at the top right corner and a couple of creases to the laminate. Otherwise there are no marks, scuffs or any other blemishes. The rear has a couple of marks but on the whole very clean and the flipbacks are well stuck and without any folds.
Inners: Very Good
Comes with original lined emitex inner. The inner is slighly yellowed and has the outline of a coffee cup on one side. Otherwise no rips or tears. Also included in a new, anti-static inner sleeve which the disc is stored within (last picture).
Disc: Excellent
Help! is such an enjoyable record to listen to, and this is a great copy of it. Both sides retain the original mirror-like gloss finish with only have a very few hairline scratches. The vocals on "You're Going To Lose That Girl" are slightly fuzzy but as it is only this song I put this down to the pressing rather than a defect. Otherwise playback is superb, without distortion and with minimal background crackle throughout and between tracks.
All in all this is a very nice copy for the collector.
Item will be posted in a polythene outer sleeve within a padded vinyl record mailer.
