The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
This exceptional 'final upgrade' example of the Beatles eighth studio album is a STEREO UK 1st pressing on the much sought after yellow and black Parlophone label.
The matrix numbers and mothers stampers etched into the run-out groove indicate that this was one of the first few thousand copies off the production line - implying that this was a 'day of release' purchase.
The vinyl is housed within the fully-laminated Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve which features a very desirable WIDE SPINE. Unlike many examples of this sleeve, the wide spine is without any creasing or wear.
The album comes complete with the original red and white wavy inner sleeve designed by The Fool art collective and the cut-out insert sheet designed by Peter Blake.
Serial number: PCS 7027
Matrix number: YEX 637 - 1 / YEX 638 - 1
Stamper codes: 1 O / 2 H
Vinyl Weight: 170g

Condition:

Vinyl: EXCELLENT
Labels: MINT -
The labels are bright and clean. Only a handful of very light spindle marks can be seen to both sides.
Visual: EXCELLENT -
Superb 'factory-fresh' deep-gloss playing surfaces which show only light surface marks in strong daylight. Non are feel-able. Under a strong halogen bulb a light surface scuff can be seen on side 1 alongside a pearlescent rainbow shine. A really strong example.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT
The audio is fantastic. This copy has clearly been played cautiously on good quality equipment. There is no sign of groove or play wear. There are quiet lead-ins to both sides and minimal static in between tracks. There are clear vocals and punchy bass. You will struggle to find a better listening experience.
Sleeve: MINT -
The sleeves looks superb. All four sides retain the original glossy lustre and the cover art is vibrant maintaining bright colours. All four corners are crisp and sharp. The opening edges, top and bottom edges are without any wear. As mentioned, the spine is in exceptional condition. In forty years I've only seen a couple this good. Truly a final upgrade example.
Inner Sleeve: MINT -
The original inner sleeve is in great condition. It is perfectly clean with no tears, writing or seam splits. The cut-out insert is as-new. The vinyl is housed inside an audiophile quality, anti-static inner sleeve to help protect and preserve the record and inner sleeve.

The record will be sent via an insured courier in a padded vinyl mailer. Non-EU international bidders please get in touch for an accurate postage cost if you do not want to ship with the GSP.
