Hamilton Frederick Bohannon (March 7, 1942 – April 24, 2020), often credited and known professionally simply as Bohannon, was an American , , songwriter, , and , who was one of the leading figures in 1970s  music Much of his music has been widely , most notably on Chicago DJ/producer 's 1999 hit "Get Get Down" which heavily sampled Bohannon's "Me and the Gang." A dominant very fast and repetitively played funky E-guitar gives all of the 7 tracks an urgent drive which successfully makes the listener either turn off after a short time or shake his/her body in sync with the rhythm. Drums/percussion and synth rhythm backbone are in perfect harmony with the guitar. In combination with occasional vocals, the whole music is a sparse but very effective affair.
The long tracks I Got To Stay Funky and Maybe You Can Dance are a kind of minimal music, with very slight changes happening, incurring a great development over the length of 8 to 12 minutes. In other words, it doesn't get boring. Great music, it's sad that it is almost forgotten.
