CONTAINS THE huge international hit single 'Hocus Pocus' - the album version weighing in at nearly seven minutes in length. At the time people were astounded at the power and versatility of Focus, at factor which belied their Dutch origins, seeing them thrown into the same trick bag as world class progressive heavyweights such as ELP, Yes and Jethro Tull amongst others. Focus carried no excess baggage when it came to musicianship - Thijs Van Leer and his amazing array of throat warbling (yodelling, actually), Hammond Organ and flute was a window to a new world whilst Jan Akkerman unleashed some of the most fluid and fundamentally brutal guitar work of the period - a virtuoso indeed.

This album is great because it is accessible by virtue of the fact that it is so good and not because they attempted to dumb-down and score a hit single, although they did achieve this by accident rather than design. Like all great works of art it exists because there is a a fundamental brilliance at work - four band members working perfectly in unison, feeding of energy and expertise like it was going out of fashion.

Great tracks throughout the entire two sides including 'Eruption', a 23 minute monster prog work out occupying all of side two but split into several different bite size parts for easy access and glucose free digestion.

Vinyl: Nice clean and shiny condition. A few spindle marks visible on labels but displays no other signs of use. Grades as a very nice MINT-!

Cover: Virtually no signs of use. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is stiff, straight and uncrushed. Looks like it stepped out of the factory yesterday - shop fresh! Beautiful and impossible to find like this 52 years after release. Grades as MINT!
