ROLLING STONES - BEGGARS BANQUET
SUPERB MINT MINUS AUDIO
1ST PRESS BOXED STEREO DECCA LABEL (1970)
NEAR MINT ROBERT STACE SLEEVE
CATALOGUE:DECCA SKL4955
MATRIX:XZAL 8476-1K / 8477-3K
THE RECORD
THE LABELS
THE BLUE AND SILVER LABELS ARE IN JUST MAGNIFICENT CONDITION. THE DEEP BLUE COLOUR IS RICH AND VIBRANT AND HAS NO MARKS OR STAINS ON IT ANYWHERE. IT ALSO STRETCHES FULLY INTO THE UNWORN SPINDLE HOLE. THE SILVER TYPEFACE AND LOGO'S ARE ALSO IN PRISTINE UNRUBBED CONDITION, WITH EACH LETTER OF THE TYPEFACE PERFECTLY LEGIBLE.
A CLOSE STUDY OF THE SPINDLE HOLE REVEALS JUST 1-2 VISIBLE SPIDER LINES
THE VINYL
A GLEAMING DISC THAT HAS RETAINED ALL OF IT'S ORIGINAL LUSTRE AND SHEEN. THIS IS NATURALLY ALSO A HEAVY WEIGHT DISC.IN DAYLIGHT THERE IS NOTHING TO SEE ON THE SURFACE OF THE VINYL,AND IT LOOKS FLAWLESS.
WHEN PLACED UNDER A MAGNIFYING LED HALO I CAN BARELY MAKE OUT A COUPLE OF SMALL WISPY HAIRLINES AND A COUPLE OF NON SOUNDING EMBEDDED DULL STREAKS
THE TEST PLAY
THE RICH AND POWERFUL STEREO SOUND IS JUST MAGNIFICENT AND PURE FIRST PRESS. THE REPRODUCTION IS JUST SECOND TO NONE, AND EVERY NOTE IS CLEAR AND CRISP.
THE FIRST THING TO STATE IS THAT IS NOT ONE JOT OF DISTORTION AT ANY POINT SHOWING THAT THE LITTLE PLAY THE RECORD HAS RECEIVED WAS COMPLETED ON A SYSTEM THAT HAD A CORRECTLY WEIGHTED AND UNWORN STYLUS
NEXT THE RUN IN GROOVES TO BOTH OPENING TRACKS ARE NEAR SILENT, AND THE LINKING GROOVES BETWEEN THE TRACKS ARE THE SAME, AND EVEN THE RUN OUT GROOVE IS CLEAN AND CRACKLE FREE
THE RECORDING IS A VERY LOUD STEREO CUT AND IS REPRODUCED SUPERBLY.
THE VINYL PLAYS WITHOUT ANY BACKGROUND CRACKLE WHATSOEVER, AND NO LOUD CLICKS AT ANY POINT.
NO TICS OR POPS ANYWHERE AND THE ONLY PICKY THING I COULD SAY IS THAT THERE IS THE OCCASIONAL SPLIT SECOND OF BARELY AUDIBLE STATIC IN A COUPLE OF LINKING GROOVES
SO PLEASE TAKE A GOOD LISTEN AND JUDGE THIS GREAT ALBUM FOR YOURSELF
I AM MORE THAN HAPPY TO GRADE THIS AUDIO MINT MINUS
IT REALLY IS THAT GOOD
BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, JUST HIT THE PLAY BUTTONS AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE AND YOU CAN HEAR THE WHOLE THING AND JUDGE IT AGAINST YOUR PERSONAL STANDARDS
THE SLEEVE
LAMINATED OFF WHITE GATEFOLD FROM ROBERT STACE
THE FRONT SURFACE IS IN FLAT AND CLEAN CONDITION, AND THE LAMINATE GLEAMS LIKE A POLISHED MIRROR.
THERE ARE NO HEAVY CREASES ANYWHERE,
NO RING WEAR WHATSOEVER, AND NOT EVEN ANY RECORD SHAPE. THE FOUR CORNERS ARE SHARP AND SQUARE WITH JUST A TINY DING TO THE BOTTOM LEFT TI[
THERE ARE FOUR PRESSURE LINES AGAINST THE SPINE. ONE ON THE TOP EDGE, ONE ON THE BOTTOM EDGE, AND NO THUMB LINES NEAR THE OPENING EGDE
THE TOP AND BOTTOM EDGES ARE FULLY LAMINATED AND UNBLEMISHED . TOTALLY SMOOTH ALL THE WAY ACROSS, WITH PERFECT GOLD COLOUR. JUST A PIN PRICK OF RUB TO THE BOTTOM REAR RIGHT CORNER TIP
THE SPINE IS FLAT HAVING ALL OF THE LAMINATE FULLY INTACT, THE TOP AND BOTTOM ENDS ARE UNBLEMISHE AND THE TYPEFACE IS PERFECTLY LEGIBLED
THE OPENING EDGE IS SHARP WITH JUST A SPECK OF FEATHERING IN A COUPLE OF PLACES
THE REAR SURFACE IS AGAIN FREE FROM ANY HEAVY CREASING AND BENDS.AND IS IN THE SAME CONDITION AS THE FRONT. JUST ONE PRESSURE LINE NEAR THE SPINE, AND TINY FLAKE TO THE LAMINATE ON THE OPENING EDGE`
OPENING THE GATEFOLD REVEALS A PRISTINE PAIR OF INNER PANELS. NO COLOUR LOSS OR RUBBING.
THE ORIGINAL BLUE AND WHITE POLY LINED INNER SLEEVE WITH THE BLUE TEXT IS UNSPLIT AND FREE FROM CREASING.
THIS SLEEVE EASILY GRADES NEAR MINT
