Bridge Over Troubled Water was one of the biggest selling albums of its decade, and it hasn't fallen too far down on the list in the 30-plus years since. The album was perhaps the most delicately textured album to close out the 1960s from any major rock act. Bridge Over Troubled Water, at its most ambitious and bold, on its title track, was a quietly reassuring album; at other times, it was personal yet soothing; and at other times, it was just plain fun.  Originally mastered by Bernie Grundman for Classic Records from the original two track analog master tapes on Classic's "ALL TUBE" mastering system and released on 180g vinyl, this wonderful title was re-released by Classic using the original metal parts on Classic's 200g Super Vinyl Profile (SVP) resulting in the ability to retrieve the subtle low level details and harmonies previously obscured during playback on conventional "non flat profile" pressings.  There are only five new copies remaining and as such expect the prices on this definitive version of an S&G masterpiece to rise once all are gone.  Don't hesitate - just buy it!
