"ROCKIN' IN THE FREE WORLD " (Neil Young, 1989)

There's colours on the street,
Red, white and blue,
People shuffling their feet,
People sleeping in their shoes.
But there's a warning sign on the road ahead,
There's a lot of people saying,
We'd be better off dead.
Don't feel like Satan,
But I am to them,
So I try to forget it, any way I can.

Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world.

I see a girl in the night,
With a baby in her hand,
Under an old street light,
Near a garbage can.
Now she puts the kid away,
And she's gone to get a hit,
She hates her life,
And what she's done to it>

That's one more kid,
That will never go to school,
Never get to fall in love,
Never get to be cool.

Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world.

We got a thousand points of light,
For the homeless man,
We got a kinder, gentler,
Machine gun hand.
We got department stores and toilet paper,
Got styro-foam boxes for the ozone layer,
Got a man of the people, says keep hope alive,
Got fuel to burn, got roads to drive.

Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world,
Keep on rockin' in the free world.

All Songs Written By Neil Young Except "On Broadway"
Recorded From July 1988 - 1989 At: The Barn-Redwood Digital, Arrow Ranch, Woodside, California,
Jones Beach  & The Hit Factory, New York
Produced By "The Volume Dealers,"  Neil Young & Niko Bolas I honestly feel I do not need to write a single word about "Freedom", the track listing alone reveals every song is a masterpiece
and "Freedom" one of the greatest albums ever released and certainly among Neil's most inspired writing and performing.  He also
co-produced the album and in doing that, he created a record with staggering sound and being 1989, the CD era was like a plague
to him!  All he knew about making incredible records led to a fierce determination to produce a vinyl version able to blow away
the CD's, he succeeded!  Being me I cannot list this loved and revered album without some input, I have to respect the true mint
condition and offer this without playing it, so some background to the final album in the 1980's decade will have to suffice. How
can anyone describe "Crime In The City (Sixty To Zero, Part I)" anyway?  You just listen to it and be it the live acoustic or the
electric studio version of "Rockin' in the Free World", you can only prepare yourself to be blown away by the sheer intensity of
his performances.  Neil Young took  terrible criticism for his 1980's albums, but he more than answered the critics who failed to
enjoy the superb previous album, "This Note's For You",  the epic "Freedom" re-established Neil Young's musical genius, as well
well as a gifted ability to write anthems with rousing lyrics, that tore into the very fabric of present social issues.

Neil Young was an artist who did more than just stand up and be counted in 1989, he inspired so many others to stand up with him.

With the dawn of the 80's decade, many expected Neil Young to abandon multiple musical styles and settle for melodic mediocracy,
but nothing could have been further away from how he exploded into the 1980's!  He came out rocking so hard, he pre-empted the
resurgence of a new wave of young bands in Britain and the USA, during the late 1970's and early 1980's. From 1976 to 1979 Neil
refused to buckle under the onslaught of Punk. Now he reverted to some of the heaviest guitar/rock sounds since the heady days of
the late 60's psychedelia, both with Buffalo Springfield and his first two solo albums.  Neil and Crazy Horse went and recorded just
about the greatest album out of all those amazing LP titles, like "Zuma" and "Rust Never Sleeps", only this time without any tracks
left over from previous recording sessions dating back several years. He recorded several LP's that left earlier fans reeling from
the sheer varity of styles, computer generated vocals on complete tracks, rockabilly, techno rock, big band music, he really was
'landing on water' and only Van Morrison experimented with so many different facets of music.  In the 1960's the great Bob Dylan
was booed with jeers of 'Judas' following him on stage....because he veered away from acoustic folk to perform electric r&b and
blues, wasn't it enough for artists with genuine musical genius to survive the 60's decade and make it to the 1980's? Surviving was
a minor miracle but artists like Eric Clapton were criticised for just being there, check out their 1980's albums and they contain
fantastic music, only now they were writing, performing and recording in a completely different time zone.  They earned the right
to make albums they felt were their best, critics never write songs, play instruments or sing, but they are the first to put down
those with a musical genius established way back during the birth of rock. They had also earned the right to be given respect for
their latest work, apparently not in the 1980's decade!  Neil Young went and wrote "Eldorado" and even that amazing track was
on an equal footing with the other remarkable tracks on "Freedom," one song that really does stands apart though has to be the
one opening and closing "Freedom", the sensational "Rockin' In The Free World."  Exactly ten years earlier Neil Young recorded
two versions of "My My, Hey Hey, Out Of The Blue"or "Hey Hey, My My, Into The Black" on the "Rust Never Sleeps" 1979 album.
He was written off by record companies and critics alike during  the 1980's and they never believed he was capable of re-scaling
such lofty heights as that definitive LP.   "Rockin' In The Free World" was far more intensive and like John Lennon, Neil Young lit
the fuse that demanded social equality and 'freedom' was never better expressed.  This time I really wanted just to just give the
basic pressing and decriptive details but a personal input was unavoidable, I think I have said more than enough!

    R & M RECORDS.

My lifetime's love of music and records began at a very young age, the arrival of the Beatles and the 1960's decade
in general had a very profound effect. It was only natural to bring all my first hand experience of collecting vinyl
into becoming a professional record seller.  Nearly thirty years ago we entered into the wonderful atmosphere
of record fairs with the highest possible standards set. When the Internet became the world's new market place for
vinyl, in 2001 it was time to join ebay. Those standards were rigidly adhered to as they will always continue to be,
the basics of honesty and integrity were very much part of the era the music I love originated in, so here is our friendly
and very efficient service we are proud to provide;

EVERY RECORD IS FULLY PLAYED AND COMES WITH A 'NO ARGUMENT' MONEY BACK GUARANTEE.
I USE GOOD OLD COMMON SENSE AS WELL AS A GLOBALLY ACCEPTED GRADING TERMINOLOGY
FROM THE U.K. "RECORD COLLECTOR PRICE GUIDE" BOOK.
THERE IT CLEARLY STATES "Sound Quality" AFFECTS EVERY GRADING LEVEL AND THAT IS THE ONE
AND ONLY POSSIBLE WAY TO ACCURATELY GRADE RECORDS. i.e. COMBINING A STRICT VISUAL
INSPECTION WITH VERY CLOSELY LISTENING TO EVERY SECOND, UNLESS PERHAPS IN THE CASE
OF GENUINELY UNPLAYED VINYL.  EVEN THEN WE STILL TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR A RECORD
WHEN A CUSTOMER RECEIVES EITHER A SEALED OR AN UNPLAYED RECORD.

We take 100% responsibility after an item has been posted and offer our fullest support in the event of any problems.
"There Are No Problems, Only Solutions" (John Lennon)
MY DESCRIPTIONS WILL ALWAYS BE 100% HONEST AND TOTALLY ACCURATE ON ALL GRADINGS

WEIGH A LITTLE EXTRA.

UNDER PAYPAL & EBAY'S GUIDELINES, ALL RECORDS WILL BE SENT VIA A FULLY INSURED TRACKABLE
SERVICE.

We have kept all our charges at the same level for years now, but due to the Post Office's new price increases, regretfully we
will have to increase the cost of LP's, however, singles will remain unchanged.  Ebay were aware of that happening and have
increased their minimum postal cost for LP's to £7.00, that figure has been enforced by the UK Post Office and it will become
our UK First Class, Recorded Delivery cost for albums up to the value of £46.  A temporary reduction this week means we can
now post LP's for £5, but who knows how long before the Post Office return to £7?

For LP's valued above £46, the cost will be £9, we are unhappy about either increase but our high standard of packaging has meant
in 13 years of ebay trading, there has not been one record damaged, we are determined to maintain that in the present and future.

IN THE UK RECORDS UP TO THE VALUE OF £46 WILL BE SENT RECORDED DELIVERY, OVER £46 WILL BE
SENT SPECIAL DELIVERY.
FOR THE REST OF THE WORLD ALL RECORDS WILL BE SENT VIA 'INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR.'
