The very first pressing made, you cannot get any lower than the last letters followed by '1' on both sides of any Decca single.
A huge selling single that reached No.3 in the UK charts, but try finding this 50 year old single in Mint condition!  I have been
trying for for 15 years on ebay and even longer when we traded at record fairs, meanwhile I sold several copies of the rarest
Small Faces Decca catalogue on ebay, "I've Got Mine" & "Puzzles" and Demo's.  The authentic first UK pressings in Mint are
extremely rare for "Sha-La -La -La-Lee"/ "Grow Your Own,"finally I have a once played, totally unmarked Mint- very first pressing
to offer.

ORIGINAL 1965 DECCA INNER SLEEVE, HARDLY USED USED AND UNSPLIT, JUST A RECORD IMPRESSION AND
RELATED LIGHT CREASES, AGEING FOR 1966 IS MODERATE TO AS MINIMAL AS IT GETS.   AUTHENTICITY IS
VERIFIED BY THE ABOVE SENTENCE,THE ORIGINAL SLEEVE THE RECORD WAS FIRST PLACED INSIDE 50 YEARS AGO.
IN EXCELLENT+++ / NEAR MINT CONDITION.

BOTH LABELS ARE IMMACULATE WITH THE SILVER PRINTING IN PERFECT CONDITION, WITH ONLY ONE SPINDLE
TRACES ON THE LABELS.  SO FAINT, IT COULD WELL BE JUST A NATURAL 'VEIN' IN THE TEXTURED MATT PAPER,
ONLY ONE TINY LINE ON THE RUN-IN GROOVES FROM A FINGER TO THE A-SIDE SUGGESTS ONE PLAY, BUT RECORDS
LEFT THE PRESSING PLANT AND RECORD SHOPS WITH MUCH MORE THAN ONE TINT, NOT VISUALLY OBVIOUS LINE!
I'M SAYING ONE PLAY JUST IN CASE,  ADDING A MINUS I AM INDICATING ONE TINT HANDLING TRACE, I CAN'T
HELP SFEELING THE ABSURDITY AFTER REMAINING IN SUCH FANTASTIC CONDITION FOR 50 YEARS.  A MOD
CLASSIC SINGLE THAT I BOUGHT WHEN 13 YEARS OLD, I AM STILL IN AWE OF THIS ICONIC 1960's RECORD.
BEAUTIFUL DEEPLY GLOSSY VINYL, MIRACULOUSLY IN MINT- CONDITION.

Personal bias?  I can't hide my love of the Small Faces singles and so this is a description that can only be written...personally.
Does it get any better than Steve Marriott singing powerfully, "Picked her up on a Friday night..." what a voice, what a record!
The 1960's golden decade of musical innovations was based on singles and no group or solo artist graced the 45 RPM format or
the 33 1/3rd format either, than the Small Faces.  Both sides of every single contained sensational and inspired music, this was
no exception. I try my best to stay unbiased towards every record I sell, I usually fail miserably but there's no way I can remain
neutral to the Small Faces singles, my problem lately is being unable to find them in top condition, the only way I will ever sell
them  One good thing here is I do not not need to delve back for a background any further than 1965, I am sure everyone knows
the Small Faces went from obscurity to overnight fame with their debut single "What'cha Gonna Do About It." That was the first
time I heard the Small Faces, their unbelievable energy just leapt out of my radio,I had to quickly scrape the money together and
rush down to my local record shop.  Luckily for me as a young teenager, the shop was within walking distance and from there on I
collected every scrap of music they recorded as issued, including their second follow up single "I've Got Mine."  An astounding
recording, so I expected to hear it on the radio regularly and see them performing it or badly miming on the UK "Top of the Pops"
TV charts show. That never happened and for an inexplicable reason it totally bombed out and didn't even sell enough copies to
make the lowest possible chart position.  Considering "What'cha Gonna Do About It" made No.14 on the 14th September, 1965 and
by then they had actually written and recorded "I've Got Mine" and the superb B-side, "It's Too Late. The November '65 release
date was hot on it's heels and should have at least made it into the Top 50, often new mid-60's r&b groups were fated to become
'one hit wonders,' they did not have the charismatic and staggering vocal abilities of the Small Faces front man, Steve Marriott.
The band were filmed performing, well miming "I've Got Mine" for an obscure 1965 film, "Dateline Diamonds", a 'B' film with a low
budget, planned by their manager Don Arden to be a promotional boost to their new single.  The film had a weak plot and instead of
being shown in November,1965, a long delay held back the release until April, 1966, not that was the sole reason for not selling.
B-rated films would hardly promote a single, the blow set the band back and they found themselves having to re-climb the ladder.
At this point their original 1965 line-up included Jimmy Winston playing keyboards, he was experienced and formerly had been in
'Boz And The Boz People.'  During the same November, Ian McClagan was recruited, it had nothing to do with "I've Got Mine" being
a failed single, nor was it just about Mac's very obvious musical ability.  Jimmy Winston had never quite fitted in with their insane,
wild sense of fun and outrageous behaviour, Mac also looked the part of a Mod and instantly settled into the band.  The talent they
had to write their own superb material can be heard on both sides of this 1966 single but they had no choice other than to go back
to the beginning and re-build their following the hardest way, performing live on stage, a place Marriott was born to tread.

Their main venue was in London's West End Cavern Club and there the new line-up's reputation gave them the foundation to release
further singles, an album was not even on the horizon for their record company Decca,if anything their very short career was now
really on the line.  The next chapter of the story began, the Small Faces were now into the New Year of 1966,  Decca's confidence
in their ability to write another song capable of re-scaling the heights of success "What'cha Gonna Do About It" reached, was no
longer there.   They felt the needed breakthrough required a proven songwriter, Kenny Lynch was brought in to compose their next
single, but they were far from impressed by the song Kenny Lynch & Mort Shuman presented to them.  They were not in the slightest
bit interested in "Sha-La-La-La-Lee" because they were bursting with confidence and believed Steve & Ronnie could write a song
to restore their chart presence.    Between Don Arden and Decca, the management and record company pressures forced them to record
it.  As it turned out the song was ideal for them, they underestimated their own musical charisma instantly transferring into the
grooves of a 45 RPM record.  The might not have like the  non lyrical chorus, but Steve gave it all he had and that was something
so magical and special, there was not another vocalist capable of turning "Sha-La-La-La-Lee" into a masterpiece. Suddenly Steve
dug into the whole ethos of the weekend beginning on Friday night, the very opening of the UK's "Ready Steady Go" TV show and
he sung in his unique r&b / blues saturated style. The sheer effervescence of the whole  band's performance gave the song all the
necessary ingredients to become a a No.3 UK single.  From here on nobody else would ever wrote another track for the Small Faces,
only the main songwriting partnership of Marriott and Lane with the odd Ian McClagan and Kenney Jones contribution, they would
create a stream of amazing hit  singles and albums right up to their demise in 1969.

The B-side was indeed self written and all four were credited, they picked up a fantastic Memphis/ Otis Redding feel and groove
and rocked out to "Home Grown".  Yes, there was a cannabis connection but the title was double barreled because the band wrote
it and they had made their point.  To think in such a short period of time, they would record  a psychedelic masterpiece of an
album, the glorious "Ogdens Nut Gone Flake."  With such immaculate labels and no obvious spindle traces, my earlier play was pure
enjoyment to hear "Sha - La - La - La - Lee" & "Grow Your Own" in such perfect sound quality.  As "Grow Your Own" is a wonderful
instrumental and I'm never keen to describe instrumentals, but I love them!   "Sha-La -La -La-Lee" does not require anything else
said about and with my in-built bias to this and every Small faces record, I will conclude on that note.

    R & M RECORDS.

My lifetime's love of music and records began at a very young age, the arrival of the Beatles and the 1960's decade
in general had a very profound effect. It was only natural to bring all my first hand experience of collecting vinyl
into becoming a professional record seller.  Nearly thirty years ago we entered into the wonderful atmosphere
of record fairs with the highest possible standards set. When the Internet became the world's new market place for
vinyl, in 2001 it was time to join ebay. Those standards were rigidly adhered to as they will always continue to be,
the basics of honesty and integrity were very much part of the era the music I love originated in, so here is our friendly
and very efficient service we are proud to provide;

We have kept all our charges at the same level for years now, but due to the Post Office's new price increases, regretfully we
will have to increase the cost of LP's, however, singles will remain unchanged.  Ebay were aware of that happening and have
increased their minimum postal cost for LP's to £7.00, that figure has been enforced by the UK Post Office and it will become
our UK First Class, Recorded Delivery cost for albums up to the value of £46.  A temporary reduction this week means we can
now post LP's for £5, but who knows how long before the Post Office return to £7?

For LP's valued above £46, the cost will be £9, we are unhappy about either increase but our high standard of packaging has meant
in 13 years of ebay trading, there has not been one record damaged, we are determined to maintain that in the present and future.

IN THE UK RECORDS UP TO THE VALUE OF £46 WILL BE SENT RECORDED DELIVERY, OVER £46 WILL BE
SENT SPECIAL DELIVERY.
FOR THE REST OF THE WORLD ALL RECORDS WILL BE SENT VIA 'INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR.'
