THE BEATLES: "Anthology Volume 2 " UK TRIPLE ALBUM, 18th MARCH 1996, SEALED IN SHRINK WRAPPING.

APPLE LABEL:  PCSP 728 / 72438 34448 1 6.

TRIPLE GATEFOLD COVER STILL IN THE FACTORY SHRINK WRAPPING, COMPLETELY ENCASING THE COVER, JUST
ONE PARTIALLY OPENED SEAM.   ALL THE CONTENTS INSIDE  ARE IN BRAND NEW CONDITION, NO SCRAPES OR
  SCUFFS ON THE SHRINK WRAPPING
These genuine first UK pressings were....UK printed and made from massively heavy duty cardboard, needed to hold three
heavyweight records, ending up with one of the widest spines of all time for all three "Anthology" volumes.  Only some of
the first editions of "Volumes 1, 2 & 3" were factory shrink wrapped, it appears some of the biggest British record stores
ordered them specifically.  To tightly wrap shrink wrapping around a single cover with one record inside, can cause the
shrink wrapping to live up to it's name and purpose, constricting tugging on the corners.  For such bulky covers that was a
common enough occurrence, I assess every one individually because no two covers reacted exactly the same.  This cover
has no constriction at all, not on the corners, edges or the spine, thanks to the seam partially parting, the stress factors were
prevented.  Fortunately the seam was exactly on the opening side, the perfect position for a parted seam, I must stress all the
contents are still sealed inside.  The parted seam was only just above the half way of the opening and it was impossible to
open the triple fold old gatefold or remove any of the records, so still factory sealed after twenty years.

I urge all Beatles collector's to be aware there was only the one very small  pressing made for all three Volumes in the series.
There was only a strictly limited amount of UK vinyl pressings.  Once they were sold no further pressings were made by EMI in
their still functioning pressing plant, in this case in 1996.  They alone were genuine first pressings, record sellers on ebay are
taking advantage of the latest influx that are in shrink wrapping, please read on and I will give the definite identication of the
genuine first pressings, with and without the rare, factory sealed UK first issues.  After the 1990's first pressings were gone,
then the non EMI pressings poured in from unknown, unnamed countries and that still continues on ebay right up to this very
day, this is the Beatles actual Master Tapes and the first UK & USA pressings were mastered in Abbey Road Studios where the
Beatles recorded the material.  The UK 'Volumes 1, 2 & 3'  were pressed by EMI for the one and only time, the details immediately
following will clearly identify the UK & USA authentic 1990's first pressings.  Do not be fooled by those 2016 shrink wrapped
copies, buyers should always be informed they are NOT UK printed and pressed, only a very limited number are first pressings.
They alone originated in Abbey Road Studios and EMI's Hayes, Middlesex pressing plant and have All the specific details found on
this perfect example an authentic, March, 1996, "Beatles Anthology, Volume 2."

THE BEATLES: "Anthology Volume 2" UK TRIPLE ALBUM, 18th MARCH 1996, SEALED IN SHRINK WRAPPING.
AUTHENTIC UK FIRST ISSUE MASTERED AT ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS, PRESSED AT HAYES, MIDDLESEX, ENGLAND.
For the last 20 years, no end of East Europe unofficially sanctioned or licensed "Anthology" counterfeit copies have flooded the
internet, record shops and record fairs.  For the UK & USA, EMI & Capitol genuine first pressings it has become imperative to
identify the genuine rare first pressings because they were STRICTLY LIMITED PRESSINGS. Most USA original's were factory
shrink wrapped but only a small proportion of UK first pressings were shrink wrapped, for opened USA genuine first pressings
and the mostly unsealed UK records, the run-out grooves have exclusive mastering / maitrix indexing.   As the UK genuine first
pressings were mastered in Abbey Road Studios and pressed by EMI at their Middlesex pressing plant, the maitrix is among the
world's most distinctive, as found on all UK Beatles & solo UK records in the same format first seen in late 1982.

With so many copies or downright counterfeit pressings, the easily identification of authentic UK & USA vinyl "Anthology",
especially for sealed copies, you only can be 100% certain when the covers have original "Anthology" stickers on Volumes 2 & 3.
UK first pressings of "Anthology 1" did not have a sticker on the cover, as so few were shrink wrapped, examining the actual cover
and records with the very distinctive EMI machine stamped maitrix, easily identifies unique features no later pressings ever had.
That very much includes the latest wave of "Anthology 1" currently being sold on ebay...... sealed with shrink wrapping.

Authentic cover stickers were stuck directly onto the front of USA Capitol Records and UK EMI first pressings, even the position
was unique to which side of the Atlantic Ocean they originated from;
"Anthology" USA Stickers - Front far right, approximately a third of the way down.
"Anthology" UK Stickers - Front, top left corner, literally in the corner.
Recently made copies currently for sale on ebay, are of unspecified and unknown origin, NOT from the original Master Tapes, all
the material is most likely taken from poorly transferred standard CD's.   Covers will appear to be original on a screen because
they were photo copied from original's, becoming the most important of all for sealed first pressings versus counterfeit copies.
Once you have moved past the original USA & UK vinyl first pressings, you are into the unknown, even worse still, currently sold
copies have been sealed in shrink wrapping, preventing checking the run-out grooves for authentication.  The genuine sealed first
first pressings will have the original UK record stickers on "Volumes 1 & 2", with the "Anthology" title  and catalogue number
etc.  Original first edition only "Anthology" stickers will always be the ultimate item for 100% authentication, they do not
exist on any re-issue, so comprehensive descriptive details of this cover below, plus a full range of close up pictures, a sealed
UK first pressing is very rare and this is the perfect example.

To help identifying the unsealed first UK pressings, it would be helpful if I give a summary and itemise the three individual sets.
The overwhelming majority of UK first editions without shrink wrapping, will of course have "Anthology" stickers on the cover.
So few vinyl pressings were made, the stickers were stuck on by hand and the actual angles differ from cover to cover, creating
the same individuality of every single USA & UK "Anthology 2" &"Anthology 3", found on the 1960's earliest Beatles records.
("Anthology 1" did not have a large oblong shape sticker)

"Anthology 2" has a deep pink background to black print, including a vertical catalogue number.*
"Anthology 3" has a yellow background to black print, including a vertical catalogue number.*
APPLE LABEL:  PCSP 728 / 72438 34448 1 6.*

THE FRONT COVER:
Bear in mind the first edition covers have been blatantly photo copied, so the first item has to be in place or the rest will not
mean anything.   If you look at my close-up picture of the first item, the "The Beatles Anthology 2" pink sticker had a few tiny
parts of the edges were ruffled when the shrink wrapping was being allied.  Untouched since 1996 under the shrink wrapping,
you have a photograph like insight into how that sticker and cover looked like 20 years ago.  Even if the stickers become photo
copied to fool people, you can still check for the raised edges of the thick EMI stickers, my pictures have all you need to see and
the text here will save many people from being ripped off.
1.)  A large deep pink & black EMI sticker with;
"The Beatles Anthology 2"
Includes UNRELEASED Versions Of Your FAVOURITE

"72438 34448 1 6"

The above catalogue number on the EMI sticker is the British catalogue number and that is printed on the spine and the top section
of the bar code on the back of the cover.

2.) WITHIN THE BAR CODE ARE SPECIFIC UK CATALOGUE NUMBERS AND WHERE THE AUTHENTIC COVERS.
LABELS AND INNER SLEEVES WERE MADE: "72438 34448 1 6"  "UK PCSP 728"  "Printed In England

"Anthology Volume 2" was released five months after "Volume 1", even 20 weeks later we were still digesting and listening to the
astonishing amount of music even 25 years of bootlegs had failed to reveal.  Of course to Beatles fanatics, of which I numbered,
a great deal of material had been made unofficially available, but unlike "The Beatles Live At The BBC" project, were now hearing
virtually everything directly from Abbey Road's Master Tapes, if nothing else, ebay has confirmed there rested the true sound of
the greatest music the 20th century ever produced.  Bootlegs released by 'Yellow Dog" etc. were actually stunning and superior
to officially released CD versions of the Beatles albums, unbelievably we were told in the 1980's by EM I/ Apple, the first four
albums were not up to releasing in the stereo mixes and the worst sounding mono CD's all but ruined once magnificent analogue
mono mixes.  Meanwhile the CD revolution hit the bootleg market and suddenly the demand for perfect sound was being met, those
poorly pressed vinyl bootlegs were redundant, the true stereo out-takes and alternate versions that went all the way back to
the recording sessions for the 1963 "Please Please Me", were in such staggering stereo, only 1960's UK original stereo pressings
in top condition could live with the out-takes on bootleg CD's.  A situation EMI and Capitol had to be aware of, the beneficiary was
of course all the vinyl pressings of the "Anthology" series, then in an era when CD's were almost taking over from vinyl, it was
"Anthology" that  alerted record companies that vinyl would not quietly disappear, here we are twenty years later and records
have more than survived, they are collected in just about every country in the world.  I have no wish to constantly wage a war
against counterfeit vinyl pressings, but I must point out the bootlegs I referred to contained unique material, they were not the
pirate/unofficial/ fake/ counterfeit versions filling ebay with utter junk.  Records did not survive only to become cheap, nasty
substandard quality, counterfeit copies, a method to rip off the inexperienced and naive, the Beatles always were, and always
will be targetted by those without morals.  "Anthology 1" was the most important Beatles release on video, vinyl and CD's but
a now minority vinyl was strictly limited in the 1990's, a different era, the video box set my kids bought me for that Christmas
was outrageously over priced at £110, the DVD set that followed was half that price, today the video box set has zero value and
the counterfeit vinyl versions of authentic items, also have has a value of zero, right, enough said.

With the release of "Anthology 1" John Lennon's songwriting genius burnt as brightly as ever, for the first time in 25 years one
of this 1979 fantastic piano demo's had Paul, George and Ringo recording the 'missing Beatles' instruments and vocal harmonies,
"Free As A Bird" was released as a Beatles single on Apple.  The 'impossible'  happened and the world once again heard something
so beautiful, the previous 25 years were peeled back like a 'glass onion,' at almost the same time the first volume of three tripple
vinyl albums and double CD's continued that insight into the 'glass onion.'  A whole series of 'Beatles Anthology'  was broadcast
on TV in 1995 and the archive films left you in a state of  wonder, then that Christmas the complete series in a video box set felt
surreal after the decades of collecting similar material on barely watchable video's.  Fellow traders will remember how precious
even the worst quality pictures were, records, CD's, video's and even a huge 'Anthology' book had re-awakened a sleeping giant
globally, in the 60's the Beatles were the greatest band on the  planet, in the mid-1990's they re-claimed their throne and John
Lennon's lead vocals once again were heard from the latest Beatles single.   I intend a very short accompanying description to
the track listing above, I have a massive collection of unofficial Beatles recordings, a sealed album anyway, even If I did play
the records I could not even begin to detail so many Beatles rarities over six sides for an ebay listing.

Like those those who also bought all three vinyl editions of the triple set, the CD's never made them redundant, on the contrary,
the Beatles "Anthology" was responsible for beginning a revival and love of vinyl, to the extent we are currently still feeling it.
Records were how we heard the Beatles music as it was freshly written and recorded and in 2015, nothing has changed and even
with downloading music becoming a way of life, there are now vinyl pressings made of most new releases.  The next major date
was March,1996, " Anthology Volume 2" was released  and from 1965 to 1967, we experienced the psychedelic era all over again
via amazing out-takes, but even more amazing, a second 'new Beatles' single, another Lennon piano demo "Real Love" receiving
the full Beatles treatment and the melody was even more 'Beatlish', the video was just superb, "Real Love" was included on this,
"Anthology Volume 2" set.

Then the final installment, "Anthology 3" was issued on the 28th October,1996, with rehearsals, out-takes and demo's from the
"The White Album," plus from "Abbey Road" and "Let It Be." Originally plans were made for a third Beatles single to be created
from another John Lennon demo masterpiece of a song, "Now And Then," but it was abandoned.... apparently, but work did begin,
so come on Apple, let's hear how far Paul, George & Ringo got!  Alternately you can find John's original demo on a bootleg, what a
fantastic song that is, a little low on hi-fi properties but a glorious melody, I would love to hear Paul and George harmonising
  with John's basic recording.

The UK pressing and printing was shrink wrapped but only some of the very first copies and you had to be quick! The majority were
sold without being sealed and although the USA versions were released simultaneously, American copies are far more likely to be
found in sealed shrink wrapping.  The stunning condition of this tells of perfect storage over the last 19 years, without even any
scuffs or splits in the shrink wrapping, with the clean feel of just being bought.  I included close up pictures of the stickers,
the spine's catalogue number and bar code, the bar code contains the exclusive details unique to the first UK pressings.  I have
commented about the dubious amount of limited original vinyl from the late 1980's, 1990's and 2000 Beatles titles claiming to be
'UK pressings'.  For other title listings from the last 25 years or so when CD sales far outnumbered vinyl editions, I have given
the same precise details for the genuine items, which this ultimate condition, shrink wrapped first pressing most certainly is!

  R & M RECORDS.

My lifetime's love of music and records began at a very young age, the arrival of the Beatles and the 1960's decade
in general had a very profound effect. It was only natural to bring all my first hand experience of collecting vinyl
into becoming a professional record seller.  Nearly thirty years ago we entered into the wonderful atmosphere
of record fairs with the highest possible standards set. When the Internet became the world's new market place for
vinyl, in 2001 it was time to join ebay. Those standards were rigidly adhered to as they will always continue to be,
the basics of honesty and integrity were very much part of the era the music I love originated in, so here is our friendly
and very efficient service we are proud to provide;

EVERY RECORD IS FULLY PLAYED AND COMES WITH A 'NO ARGUMENT' MONEY BACK GUARANTEE.
I USE GOOD OLD COMMON SENSE AS WELL AS A GLOBALLY ACCEPTED GRADING TERMINOLOGY
FROM THE U.K. "RECORD COLLECTOR PRICE GUIDE" BOOK.
THERE IT CLEARLY STATES "Sound Quality" AFFECTS EVERY GRADING LEVEL AND THAT IS THE ONE
AND ONLY POSSIBLE WAY TO ACCURATELY GRADE RECORDS. i.e. COMBINING A STRICT VISUAL
INSPECTION WITH VERY CLOSELY LISTENING TO EVERY SECOND, UNLESS PERHAPS IN THE CASE
OF GENUINELY UNPLAYED VINYL.  EVEN THEN WE STILL TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR A RECORD
WHEN A CUSTOMER RECEIVES EITHER A SEALED OR AN UNPLAYED RECORD.

We take 100% responsibility after an item has been posted and offer our fullest support in the event of any problems.
"There Are No Problems, Only Solutions" (John Lennon)

WEIGH A LITTLE EXTRA.

UNDER PAYPAL & EBAY'S GUIDELINES, ALL RECORDS WILL BE SENT VIA A FULLY INSURED TRACKABLE
SERVICE.

We have kept all our charges at the same level for years now, but due to the Post Office's new price increases, regretfully we
will have to increase the cost of LP's, however, singles will remain unchanged.  Ebay were aware of that happening and have
increased their minimum postal cost for LP's to £7.00, that figure has been enforced by the UK Post Office and it will become
our UK First Class, Recorded Delivery cost for albums up to the value of £46.  A temporary reduction this week means we can
now post LP's for £5, but who knows how long before the Post Office return to £7?

For LP's valued above £46, the cost will be £9, we are unhappy about either increase but our high standard of packaging has meant
in 13 years of ebay trading, there has not been one record damaged, we are determined to maintain that in the present and future.

IN THE UK RECORDS UP TO THE VALUE OF £46 WILL BE SENT RECORDED DELIVERY, OVER £46 WILL BE
SENT SPECIAL DELIVERY.
