Gold coast slave ship bound for cotton fields,
Sold in a market down in New Orleans.
Scarred old slaver know he's doing alright,
Hear him whip the women just around midnight.
Ah, brown sugar, how come you taste so good?
Ah, brown sugar, just like a young girl should.

Drums beating, cold English blood runs hot,
Lady of the house wondering where it's gonna stop.
House boy knows that he's doing alright,
You should a heard him just around midnight,
Ah, brown sugar, how come you taste so good?
Ah, brown sugar, just like a black girl should.

I bet your mama was a tent show queen,
And all her boyfriends were sweet sixteen.
I'm no schoolboy but I know what I like,
You should have heard me just around midnight.
Ah, brown sugar, how come you taste so good?
Ah, brown sugar, just like a young girl should.
I said yeah, I said, yeah, I said, yeah, I said,
Ah, brown sugar, just like a young girl should.
Oh, just like a... just like a black girl should.
ROLLING STONES: "Brown Sugar"/ "Bitch" / "Let It Rock" (Live) SINGLE, RELEASED, 16th APRIL, 1971.
THIS IS THE VERY FIRST UK PRESSING, "Brown Sugar" IS IN STEREO AND "Bitch" / "Let It Rock" IN MONO.
A-SIDE:
"Brown Sugar" (In Stereo, Produced By Jimmy Miller)

B-SIDE:
"Bitch" / "Let It Rock" (In Mono, Recorded Live At Leeds, 13th March, 1971, Produced By Glyn Johns)
ROLLING STONES LABEL:  RS 19100

  MAITRIX:  RS 19100  A1  /  (RS 19100  B1)
To identify the very first pressings, you only need to look at the abundance of hand scribed errors that ended up with more crossing
out scribbles than actual letters & digits on the B-side.  I know it is intended to be 'RS 19100  B1' and only just readable due
to my long term experience of seeing and selling several other very first pressings of "Brown Sugar," to signify that difficulty
on first pressings, I placed a bracket around the maitrix.  The Test Pressing records did not have the usual CBS stamping and
the sound engineer's attempt to hand scribe it was nothing less than a terrible mess.   First pressings are made from the same
metal plates per side and they also contain the same errors etc. as Test Pressings and Demo's, which means my pictures only
show the close up of the A-side.    I did take a picture of the B-side but the messy scribbles made... a messy picture, instead I
took pictures of the die-cut centre holes with actual cut round teeth and lips, if only to expose the counterfeit 'Rolling Stones
Records' earliest 7" sleeves, fakes are printed only in one dimension and very poorly!

ORIGINAL 1971, VERY FIRST MADE ISSUE 'Rolling Stones Records 'Open Mouth'  LOGO SLEEVE.
PRINTED IN COLOUR WITH ONE CORNER PERSIDE FINISHED WITH A ROUNDED SECTION OF A PROTRUDING TONGUE.
Basically a standard matt 7"cover with an incredible shaped mouth around the die-cut centre hole, extremely prone to wear, tears,
rips and scuffing, because of the unique details of the shaped die-cut intricate shapes.  Even the teeth of the opened mouth were
individually cut round to create a really effective 3D effect.  Unused, this sleeve is unsplit and in outstanding condition for it's ever
extending age, I have trouble accepting the "Brown Sugar" single is now 45 years old, there are no tears or wear as such, or any
ageing or yellowing to the 'teeth's' pure white colour.  The background light pink colour is also unfaded and unaged, with the red
colour of the lips and tongues as vividly bright as in 1971, even the exposed wavy top opening, is still the original pure white.
The record impression is remarkably light, so only a few gentle ripples and the merest hint of any rubbing to the extremities.
THE 'Rolling Stones Records' COMPANY SLEEVE IS IN MINT- CONDITION.

THESE ARE AMONG THE MOST TEXTURED LABELS SEEN IN THE EARLY 1970's, EASILY SHOWING THE SLIGHTEST
SPINDLE OR FINGERTIP CONTACTS, THERE ARE NONE AT ALL.  THE VINYL HAS THE ULTRA GLOSSY SURFACE OF
A JUST PRESSED RECORD AND THERE ARE NO MARKS OF ANY KIND ON EITHER SIDE.
THE RECORD IS IN  UNPLAYED, MINT CONDITION.

The Rolling Stones ended the 1960's decade losing founder member Brian Jones, in 1969 the introduction of Mick Taylor, fresh from
playing pure blues with John Mayall, gave the Stones' music a new dimension.  His blues style was perfectly suited to the Stones and
from the great "Let it Bleed" LP became their final album released on the Decca label, 'Rolling Stones Records' was formed with CBS
pressing their first offering on their own label, with the logo being incorporated into the 7" sleeves, just described.  "Sticky Fingers"
did not include the two live tracks on the B-side, live recording's in mono of "Bitch" & "Let It Rock" created a unique single and as the
first single on their own label, what a great idea!  My only objection was how few picture sleeves were made, more like a Limited
Edition, then I personally prefer the 7" 'Rolling Stones Records' sleeves because like the "Sticky Fingers" artwork, the single's
artwork was just as stunning!   Just seeing the yellow labels inside the 'mouth' is always a wonderful sight and as my original also
did not have the picture sleeve, "Brown Sugar" always looks just perfect to me.   A re-issue had a slightly different sleeve and the
recent 'RSDay' copy looks...like a copy, far better to have an original 1971 Rolling Stones logo sleeve. Especially as the Stones
owned their own label now and  it was no longer the 60's, other record companies were now releasing major artist's singles in
picture sleeves.  The Stones did have rather cute custom sleeves made though, an open mouth made imaginative use of the die-cut
centre, produced an amazing 3D effect with individual teeth and a tongue lolling over into an especially designed, unique round
corner on one side.  Please see my pictures if you have yet to encounter one of the rather special sleeves.   This is an incredible
unplayed very first pressing made, a very rare record and yes, I am aware of such claims multiplying in ebay, but when I write,
'unplayed'... it means unplayed, without any spindle traces at all.   I will not play the record and not just because this is now an
astonishing 45 years old, with common sense this could possibly remain unplayed indefinitely now. I do not normally advocate not
playing Rolling Stones singles but there are plenty of Excellent condition copies for that purpose, if only more 1960's to early
1970's singles still survive in this ultimate condition, a great choice for the next owner to make.

    R & M RECORDS.

My lifetime's love of music and records began at a very young age, the arrival of the Beatles and the 1960's decade
in general had a very profound effect. It was only natural to bring all my first hand experience of collecting vinyl
into becoming a professional record seller.  Nearly thirty years ago we entered into the wonderful atmosphere
of record fairs with the highest possible standards set. When the Internet became the world's new market place for
vinyl, in 2001 it was time to join ebay. Those standards were rigidly adhered to as they will always continue to be,
the basics of honesty and integrity were very much part of the era the music I love originated in, so here is our friendly
and very efficient service we are proud to provide;

EVERY RECORD IS FULLY PLAYED AND COMES WITH A 'NO ARGUMENT' MONEY BACK GUARANTEE.
I USE GOOD OLD COMMON SENSE AS WELL AS A GLOBALLY ACCEPTED GRADING TERMINOLOGY
FROM THE U.K. "RECORD COLLECTOR PRICE GUIDE" BOOK.
THERE IT CLEARLY STATES "Sound Quality" AFFECTS EVERY GRADING LEVEL AND THAT IS THE ONE
AND ONLY POSSIBLE WAY TO ACCURATELY GRADE RECORDS. i.e. COMBINING A STRICT VISUAL
INSPECTION WITH VERY CLOSELY LISTENING TO EVERY SECOND, UNLESS PERHAPS IN THE CASE
OF GENUINELY UNPLAYED VINYL.  EVEN THEN WE STILL TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR A RECORD
WHEN A CUSTOMER RECEIVES EITHER A SEALED OR AN UNPLAYED RECORD.

We take 100% responsibility after an item has been posted and offer our fullest support in the event of any problems.
"There Are No Problems, Only Solutions" (John Lennon)
MY DESCRIPTIONS WILL ALWAYS BE 100% HONEST AND TOTALLY ACCURATE ON ALL GRADINGS

We have kept all our charges at the same level for years now, but due to the Post Office's new price increases, regretfully we
will have to increase the cost of LP's, however, singles will remain unchanged.  Ebay were aware of that happening and have
increased their minimum postal cost for LP's to £7.00, that figure has been enforced by the UK Post Office and it will become
our UK First Class, Recorded Delivery cost for albums up to the value of £46.  A temporary reduction this week means we can
now post LP's for £5, but who knows how long before the Post Office return to £7?

For LP's valued above £46, the cost will be £9, we are unhappy about either increase but our high standard of packaging has meant
in 13 years of ebay trading, there has not been one record damaged, we are determined to maintain that in the present and future.

IN THE UK RECORDS UP TO THE VALUE OF £46 WILL BE SENT RECORDED DELIVERY, OVER £46 WILL BE
SENT SPECIAL DELIVERY.
FOR THE REST OF THE WORLD ALL RECORDS WILL BE SENT VIA 'INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR.'
