Mull of Kintyre,
Oh, mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here,
Oh, Mull of Kintyre.
Far have I travelled and much have I seen,
Dark distant mountains with valleys of green.
Past painted deserts, the sunset's on fire,
As he carries me home to the Mull of Kintyre.

Mull of Kintyre,
Oh, mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here,
Oh, Mull of Kintyre.

Sweep through the heather like deer in the glen,
Carry me back to the days I knew then.
Nights when we sang like a heavenly choir,
Of the life and the time of the Mull of Kintyre.

Mull of Kintyre,
Oh, mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here,
Oh, Mull of Kintyre.

Smiles in the sunshine,
And tears in the rain,
Still take me back to where my memories remain,
Flickering embers growing higher and higher,
As they carry me back to the the Mull of Kintyre.

Mull of Kintyre,
Oh, mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here,
Oh, Mull of Kintyre.

Mull of Kintyre,
Oh, mist rolling in from the sea,
My desire is always to be here,
Oh, Mull of Kintyre.
PAUL McCARTNEY / WINGS "Wings Greatest" LP. EMI / PARLOPHONE UK FIRST PRESSING, 2nd November, 1978.
Last year I sold a very rare factory sealed first UK pressing of "Wings Greatest" that had eluded me in all the long years of
selling records, the next challenge was to find an equally rare sealed shrink wrapped cover. By that I mean machine crimped just
before the opening sides, well here it is and yet another first for me for "Wings Greatest," positively a very first UK pressing
with every possible feature of an EMI first edition vinyl and all associated printed items.   For some unknown reason, the first
made records were on top quality vinyl, as thick and heavyweight as any 1960's EMI record, so a major rarity with an unplayed
first UK pressing in a shrink wrapped cover, even complete with the November, 1978 'HMV' record shop price sticker.   Before I
give the specific details, I must emphasise this is not  American on the Capitol label.  100% UK EMI pressed and on their

Parlophone label, the shrink wrapping even has an original 1978 price sticker, a familiar purple, black and white sticker 'HMV'
  sticker;
  the HMV shop
   £4 - 99
THICKLY TEXTURED BLACK BACKGROUND TO SILVER PRINTING, PARLOPHONE LABEL: PCTC 256

EMI STAMPING CODES: MD 1  / GLM 1
Both sides pressed from the first mothers, is indeed the very first pressing, combining with the heavyweight, extra thick record
and the textured labels and og course the all important maitrix, in the original format.   Only 13 months later in January, 1980,
the changes to the stamping codes identify the plentiful 1980's reissues of  "Wings Greatest."

  A TYPICAL VERY FIRST PRESSING MAITRIX: YEX 983 - 3  YEX 984 - 2

ALSO IN THE RUN-OUT GROOVES OF THE GENUINE VERY FIRST PRESSING PER SIDE, ARE THE LOGO'S OF
ABBEY ROAD STUDIO'S TOP SOUND ENGINEER/ VINYL MASTERER, NICK WEB.  UNUSUALLY HE HAND SCRIBED
  WHERE HE MASTERED 'Wings Greatest.'
  SIDE 1: MASTERED AT 'ABBEY ROAD' - NICK;

  SIDE 2: Nick W
I had to compile pictures to fit all the items, the collective maitrix and mastering logo's of Nick Webb's logo's, far right of
  Side 2's 'Nick W', I  included the '1' digit' at  9 o'clock in the run-out grooves.

FIRST ISSUE CUSTOM MADE STRONG CARDBOARD INNER SLEEVE WITH CURVED CORNERS AND THE UK 'PCTC 256'
CATALOGUE NUMBER PRINTED IN WHITE ON THE FRONT, BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER.
The only other printing on the black background is the album's ever present gold & ivory statuette of 'Semiramis', as the reverse
side is identical apart from the front's shaped record access, I only showed the front due to the 12 pictures restriction.
UNUSED,  UNSPLIT AND UNFADED WITH ONLY A RECORD IMPRESSION, IN MINT- CONDITION.

FIRST EDITION, VERY  LARGE FOLDED DOUBLE SIDED POSTER, MEASURING 30" x 20," ONE SIDE IS IN COLOUR
AND THE OTHER IS IN BLACK & WHITE.  A SUPERB TOP QUALITY POSTER BEST SEEN IN MY INDIVIDUAL PICTURES
OF BOTH SIDES.  THIS HAS NEVER LEFT THE COVER IN ALL THOSE YEARS  A THERE IS NO AGEING, TEARS OR
CREASES, ONCE AGAIN, UNUSED IN MINT- CONDITION.

AFTER 38 YEARS OF UNREMOVED SHRINK WRAPPING, A TIGHTENING EFFECT OFTEN DISTORTS COVERS, CAUSING
CREASED / TURNED CORNERS AND BENT SPINES.   THIS WAS NOT ORIGINALLY OVER TIGHTENED AND THE OPENING
EDGES ACTED AS TENSION, SO THE COVER IS PERFECTLY FLAT.
The tension was also released by the shrink wrapping fractionally parting on the seam on the back top left corner , as that was
only one inch, it was more perfect storage that left this looking exactly how it was first seen in 'HMV' back in November, 1978.
I always give precise details but I also make sure to stress inside the protective shrink wrapping, cover and inner sleeve, is an
unplayed record that has not been seen the light of day in all those 38 years, nor has the superb poster or the cardboard inner
sleeve with the album's centerpiece... in the centre of the front cover, the labels and the inner sleeve.  Linda took an idea to
the extreme, she bought a gold and ivory statuette of Semiramis, made by an Art Deco sculptor Demetre Chiparus.  She wanted a
a photo of the statuette standing in snow, no fake snow for the McCartney's!  Along with photographer Angus Forbes, it was flown
to the Alps and set against the snow and the picture for the front cover was taken from a helicopter  in October, 1978, just in time
for the November release.   The large double sided poster inside the cover featured the Wings trio on one side, the reverse side
a piano with two parrots and the Semiramis statuette in colour, on the piano was a small framed black & white picture of Paul,
Linda & Denny, used for the other side of the poster.  No McCartney LP cover was issued without Linda and Paul's full involvement
and a 'Wings Greatest' or not, there was innovative thinking and unbelievable action taken for the artwork, in fact, very much as
expected from John & Yoko.   Of course the outstretched arms of the Semiramis statuette draped in a cloak, was connected to the
'wings' theme.  In the following year, 1979, "Back To The Egg" continued the saga and if you look carefully at the front cover,
behind the band looking down into outer space from a standard room, is a mantelpiece over a fireplace with two glowing wall lamps
above, in the middle is Linda's Semiramis statuette once again for the imaginative artwork for their 1979 album front cover.

I do find it harder and harder to separate all the pressing and condition details, from the much more interesting actual album
background, I might as well finish the cover artwork as I have described the poster and the custom first issue inner sleeve.
I cannot mention the back cover picture/poster picture of Wings, without saying the picture originally featured Jimmy Mucculloch
and Joe English, as they had left Wings in 1978, they were removed from the picture by the printer, to leave the same trio who
recorded "Band On The Run."  The backdrop is once again of the Alps but including the actual mountains, the twelve tracks are all
represented by associated artwork or pictures in small boxes, set left and right of the Wings airbrushed picture.  I do regularly
describe how Wings 'lost 'two members, one final Wings album in 1979 and Paul reverted to a solo album with "McCartney II",
also recently listed and sold on ebay, like "Back To The Egg" first pressing, in unplayed Mint of course.  I think with all this
info and none of the twelve superb tracks requiring any input from myself, due to the rarity of still having the 1978 record shop
appearance of being brand new,  I will end the description with the track listing. I like writing without sticking to a format,
not that I would ever leave out anything, sometimes full album info belongs with the facts and figures. Unplayed albums are very
rare from the 1970's and I will respect the ultimate condition of this very first UK pressing.

FIRST ISSUE 'Garrod & Lofthouse' COVERS WERE MATT, PRINTED ON THE BACK RIM IS AN ENCODED DATE:

    R & M RECORDS.

My lifetime's love of music and records began at a very young age, the arrival of the Beatles and the 1960's decade
in general had a very profound effect. It was only natural to bring all my first hand experience of collecting vinyl
into becoming a professional record seller.  Nearly thirty years ago we entered into the wonderful atmosphere
of record fairs with the highest possible standards set. When the Internet became the world's new market place for
vinyl, in 2001 it was time to join ebay. Those standards were rigidly adhered to as they will always continue to be,
the basics of honesty and integrity were very much part of the era the music I love originated in, so here is our friendly
and very efficient service we are proud to provide;

EVERY RECORD IS FULLY PLAYED AND COMES WITH A 'NO ARGUMENT' MONEY BACK GUARANTEE.
I USE GOOD OLD COMMON SENSE AS WELL AS A GLOBALLY ACCEPTED GRADING TERMINOLOGY
FROM THE U.K. "RECORD COLLECTOR PRICE GUIDE" BOOK.
THERE IT CLEARLY STATES "Sound Quality" AFFECTS EVERY GRADING LEVEL AND THAT IS THE ONE
AND ONLY POSSIBLE WAY TO ACCURATELY GRADE RECORDS. i.e. COMBINING A STRICT VISUAL
INSPECTION WITH VERY CLOSELY LISTENING TO EVERY SECOND, UNLESS PERHAPS IN THE CASE
OF GENUINELY UNPLAYED VINYL.  EVEN THEN WE STILL TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR A RECORD
WHEN A CUSTOMER RECEIVES EITHER A SEALED OR AN UNPLAYED RECORD.

We take 100% responsibility after an item has been posted and offer our fullest support in the event of any problems.
"There Are No Problems, Only Solutions" (John Lennon)
MY DESCRIPTIONS WILL ALWAYS BE 100% HONEST AND TOTALLY ACCURATE ON ALL GRADINGS
FROM 'V.G.' ( VERY GOOD), TO THE ULTIMATE 'MINT' CONDITION.

ONLY PROFESSIONALLY PACKED BOXES WITH SUBSTANTIAL PROTECTIVE PACKAGING THAT DOES
WEIGH A LITTLE EXTRA.

UNDER PAYPAL & EBAY'S GUIDELINES, ALL RECORDS WILL BE SENT VIA A FULLY INSURED TRACKABLE
SERVICE.

We have kept all our charges at the same level for years now, but due to the Post Office's new price increases, regretfully we
will have to increase the cost of LP's, however, singles will remain unchanged.  Ebay were aware of that happening and have
increased their minimum postal cost for LP's to £7.00, that figure has been enforced by the UK Post Office and it will become
our UK First Class, Recorded Delivery cost for albums up to the value of £46.  A temporary reduction this week means we can
now post LP's for £5, but who knows how long before the Post Office return to £7?

For LP's valued above £46, the cost will be £9, we are unhappy about either increase but our high standard of packaging has meant
in 13 years of ebay trading, there has not been one record damaged, we are determined to maintain that in the present and future.

IN THE UK RECORDS UP TO THE VALUE OF £46 WILL BE SENT RECORDED DELIVERY, OVER £46 WILL BE
SENT SPECIAL DELIVERY.
FOR THE REST OF THE WORLD ALL RECORDS WILL BE SENT VIA 'INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR.'
