Hear my train a-running,....
Yeah!

Well, I wait around a train station, waiting for that train, (might not turn up)
Waiting for that train, to take me.... take me away..... from this lonesome town.
Hey!
Too bad they put me though a lot of changes...
And my girl put me down....put me down.
Hear my train a-coming, hear my train a-coming,
Hear my train a-coming,
  I hear my soul a-burning.

Hear my train a-coming, hear my train a-coming,
I'm gonna leave this town, gonna leave this town
Gonna be a voodoo chile, gonna be a magic boy!
Come back and buy this town,
Come back and buy this town, and put it all in my shoe,
That's what I'm gonna do.

If you make love to me one more time, girl,
I'm gonna give a piece to you.
Hey!
Hear my train a-coming, hear my train a-coming,
Hear my train a-coming, here it comes baby,
Gonna get my heart back to together now.
That's my train over there!
Hear my train, ride on my soul,
Gotta ride on!
JIMI HENDRIX: "Midnight Lightning" LP,  FIRST UK PRESSING NOVEMBER, 1975, IN STEREO.
There are some sensational Jimi Hendrix albums....then there is "Midnight Lightning," an that album exceeds even 'sensational'!

POLYDOR:  SUPER 2310 415.

MAITRIX: 2310 415  A // 2  IB / 2310 415  B // 2   IB
Only the one pressing was made in 1975, I have seen 'A // 1'  but never seen a 'B // 1', concluding that was either used for the
Test Pressings only, or Polydor went straight to, ' B //2.'   The 'IB' after the maitrix is alo unique to "Midnight Lightning", I
believe it refers to the UK recording studio the album was mastered in, I.B.C.

THE VINYL CUTTER'S LOGO IS SCRIBED IN THE RUN-OUT GROOVES, REFERRING TO THE I.B.C STUDIO;
"Dave's I.B.C."
FOLLOWED BY AN ARROW POINTING BACK  AT THE FIRST MESSAGE AND THEN:
"Melly."

An almost identical message is on the other side and both can be seen in a picture with both side's compiled. Almost identical,
as  it was handwritten, this LP has two spelling versions of  Melvin Abraham's logo's, as 'Mely' and the other side, 'Melly.'

ORIGINAL 1975 POLYDOR INNER SLEEVE, UNUSED,  WITH ONLY A RECORD IMPRESSION'S RELATED LIGHT
CREASES, IN EXCELLENT+++ /  NEAR MINT CONDITION.

RARE FIRST ISSUE FULLY LAMINATED FRONT AND BACK COVER, WITH ONLY A GENTLE RECORD IMPRESSION
AND THE USUAL STORAGE TRAITS AFTER 41 YEARS, IN UNUSED,  NEAR  MINT CONDITION.
Unused, perfectly stored covers with an unplayed record, should not include standing traits.  I will include more details below,
mostly because this is my most loved Hendrix album issued after his death, for both the incredible music and the deluxe finish
cover with such stunning artwork.   Like all fully laminated covers, it was wrapped in one sheet from the front, up to the spine,
over and onto the back, for spines with ridge edges at the front and back meeting positions, that caused a problem for the person
laminating them.   The raised ridges created a recess that was hard to smooth the lamination into, this is like writing about a
1960's cover not one from 1975!   A small area adjacent to the spine was not stuck down but bridged the ridge, in this case only
the back has that, often misunderstood as 'laminate lift, but something that was never never stuck down can 'lift'.  For unused
fully laminated covers with Mint records, that conclusively proves the procedure was there in the factory, having bought the
60's and 70's covers when first issued, I experienced how they first appeared.   A record impression and a few related laminate
edge lines and minimal spine ending/ left corner standing pressure/ brushing, can be incorporated into the over fussy grading.
As I constantly say, I can and do fins rare Mint records, but I cannot do anything about gravity and the effect of a heavy record
inside a cover.

THE RECORD IS IN AS NEW, UNPLAYED, MINT CONDITION.
  SIDE 1
"Trashman"
"Midnight Lightning"
"Hear My Train"
"Gypsy Boy (New Rising Sun) "

SIDE 2
 "Blue Suede Shoes Blues"
"Machine Gun"
"Once I Had A Woman"
"Beginnings"

Not quite yet the '51st Anniversary,' but this November waill be the 41st anniversary since this fantastic Jimi Hendrix album was
first issued, in November, 1975, "Midnight Lightning" sold so poorly it only spent just the one one week in the British charts and
struggled to breach the Top 50, only making No.46.  This stunning album is completely filled with unique, previously unreleased
studio recordings, plus UK very first pressings were issued in a beautiful laminated cover, on the front and back. The artwork is
a magnificent Jerry Pinkney painting, Jimi Hendrix playing his guitar under stormy skies, with a bolt of lightning streaking down
down onto and through his guitar neck.  The deeply glossy lamination enhances this fantastic artwork to a really dramatic effect,
the colours are as vividly bright as the day this was printed, thirty five years ago.  The back cover contains all the tracks with
every conceivable detail and credit, always a great indication of the importance of the material. The music here represents the
genius of Jimi Hendrix and "Midnight Lightning," not yet another album with unconnected studio jams never intended for release,
a truly stunning record to play...and return to over and over again.  It was one of the earliest to be prepared and released only
fives years after his death, as previously unheard recordings, they are simply astonishing for the contents!   You cannot get a
Jimi Hendrix track of any more major importance than "Midnight Lightning" has, unique to this album only is a full length studio
version of Jimi's  awesome, "Machine Gun".   This sensational anti-war song was only previously available as an incredible live
version on the 1970 "Band Of Gypsy's" LP, to think this album was only released five years after that puts a correct perspective
onto the relevance of the studio recording, mixed into a senses reeling stereo mix as well!  Then what can you possibly say about
the first instrumental version of his burning genius as found on "Trashman," mind blowing blues is the best possible testiment to
the greatest guitarist of all time. Out of my deepest respect for Jimi Hendrix's extraordinary ability to improvise blues like no
other then or ever since, I decided to take an unusual  step and include the lyrics to "Hear My Train" and not to "Machine Gun".
He was beyond awesome, apart from the "Hear My Train" song title, I believe throughout the whole of the very long track, Jimi
improvised every word he sang.  'Sang' is perhaps too tame, Jimi did not so much sing the above lyrics, but powered them out
like a man who was possessed!   None of his usual gentleness and I can't stress how staggering his performance on this studio
version is, sure, there are many filmed and recorded versions of "Hear My Train", including the renowned acoustic guitar version,
but this features Jimi towering way above those and he makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end!  So much here to
discuss, just take "Midnight Lightning," the album title track is just as astounding and positively not the same version released
during the 1990's, even the lyrics are totally different.  The same goes for this earliest possible version of "New Rising Sun",
the lyrics were very close to being finalised, but were still being perfected.  "Midnight Lightning" is rare enough as a UK first
issue but this is an unbelievable unplayed record I am delighted to be able to offer such an ultimate condition first pressing.

The labels are in pristine as new condition, without a single trace of spindle use and the heavyweight record is also like new,
gleaming with that very special glossy sheen of mint vinyl, without any surface playing signs.  I decided to take just the one
undetectable play in order to write some basic info, which I will type out in a minute.  The sound quality is absolutely perfect,
without virtually any surface sound, plus all is heard in an outstanding, dynamic stereo mix, well, mind blowing is far more
accurate for "Machine Gun."  The Side's opening run-in grooves and all the gaps are as close to silent as vinyl permits, this is
record mastered and pressed to the immaculate standards of the 1967 -1970 Track label records. A big statement, but I know
the staggering audio properties on every second of every track, this Mint record will meet and even surpass anyone's finest
sounding vinyl.   The material most certainly will!  Just in case anyone who reading this is new to my records and thinks this is
just another helping of outlandish salesmanship, I go back to buying Jimi's debut single in December 1966 and followed every
official and unofficial recording made available ever since.  "Midnight Lightning" is indeed that special a Jimi Hendrix LP!

Side 1 starts with a very loud and powerful "Trashman," a brilliant instrumental version, Jimi's guitar is just staggering and
this has a really heavy riff that now moves into some amazing blues lead guitar, all heard in the most perfect audio definition
imaginable.  The album's title track "Midnight Lightning" is such a remarkable song and with full lyrics, Jimi is backed on the
vocals by Mareatha Stewart, Hilda Harris and Vivian Cherry.  They are soulful, gospel style backing vocals, giving a fantastic
feel to the track, sorry this is short, I'm having trouble typing at all let alone deliberately holding back on the full details!
"Hear My Train" is not the same song found on the film's soundtrack album, "Hear My Train A Coming", this is simply the most
stunning blues with Jimi singing with some great studio added reverb on his voice.  His guitar is played with restraint for most
of the track and then towards the end he really opens up, producing the most incredible sounds Jim Hendrix alone could create.
My earlier comments really said it all anyway.  "Gypsy Boy (New Rising Sun)" is reason enough for hearing this album alone,
the song was aired on the "Rainbow Bridge" film & LP, but with a totally different arrangement.  This was the beginning of his
next album that ended up being 'released', originally intended for around 1971, but a totally different version ended up being
'compiled' in the 1990's in just terrible digital sound, enough said about that!  Taken very slowly here and at this tempo, a very
effective song and performance.  Such colossal talent, it's so good to hear these tantalising songs that  promised so much from
Jimi in the 1970's decade. I'm not at all happy writing so little for the only Hendrix album I personally play as much as the LP's
released in his lifetime, or all of the Track label records. For unplayed vinyl it would not be right to fully describe these tracks
so it had to be just one extremely careful, undetectable play. I just really wanted to confirm this did have the stunning analogue
sound quality I have come to know so well, as it indeed does have.

Mentioning faint natural static on a Mint record is crazy and I get fed up having to include such utter nonsense, so I will not!
Side 2's run-in grooves are as smooth as silk, what an amazing pressing this was for 1975, this side opens up with a brilliant
variation on the classic rock and roll "Blue Suede Shoes," re-titled by Jimi Hendrix, what else but, "Blue Suede Shoes Blues."
It starts off staying very close to the original but Jimi Hendrix soon moves into his unique style of performing, also re-styling
the lyrics, in simply amazing audio!   Followed by the awesome studio version of "Machine Gun"!   Jimi Hendrix on fire, playing
and singing as inspiredly as anything he had previously recorded.   The sound quality is staggering, with amazing true stereo
effects, not only his guitar but also for those inspired vocals. The lyrics on this studio recorded version are totally different
to the live version, this was recorded with the Band Of Gypsys in the studio....before they played the debut live concert at the
Filmore, recorded on New Year's Eve.  Jim's guitar was not played in the same way as heard on the live "Band Of Gypsy" album
and this version has amazingly inspired guitar!  What a stunning track!  I would place this right alongside anything found on the
wonderful late 1960's Track recordings.  Next up is the slow, smouldering blues of "Once I Had A Woman" and Jimi is producing
some really beautiful runs on his guitar, then he delivers an awesome vocal, as deeply steeped into pure blues as his guitar is.
This is far from being the standard blues song, "Once I Loved (Had) A Woman," as covered by Eric Clapton etc. but an originally
composed Jimi Hendrix song.  No ordinary song either, because Jimi pushes it to it's very limits with an amazing solo that takes
off into orbit!   The album ends with a Mitch Mitchell composition titled, "Beginnings," an astounding instrumental, with Jimi's
inspired guitar making this compulsive listening. It was a major tragedy we were robbed of such a talent so early but there are
enough of his incredible recordings left to us to be eternally grateful for.   "Midnight Lightning" is right up there with anything
released after Hendrix's death, "Machine Gun" in fact goes way, way beyond anything else!  If for any reason you have not heard
the studio version of "Machine Gun," stand by and prepare to be blown clean away, most of those senses tingling stereo panning
effects are an advancement on anything heard on "Electric Ladyland," particularly for the sensational vocals and lead guitar.

    R & M RECORDS.

My lifetime's love of music and records began at a very young age, the arrival of the Beatles and the 1960's decade
in general had a very profound effect. It was only natural to bring all my first hand experience of collecting vinyl
into becoming a professional record seller.  Nearly thirty years ago we entered into the wonderful atmosphere
of record fairs with the highest possible standards set. When the Internet became the world's new market place for
vinyl, in 2001 it was time to join ebay. Those standards were rigidly adhered to as they will always continue to be,
the basics of honesty and integrity were very much part of the era the music I love originated in, so here is our friendly
and very efficient service we are proud to provide;

THERE IT CLEARLY STATES "Sound Quality" AFFECTS EVERY GRADING LEVEL AND THAT IS THE ONE

We have kept all our charges at the same level for years now, but due to the Post Office's new price increases, regretfully we
will have to increase the cost of LP's, however, singles will remain unchanged.  Ebay were aware of that happening and have
increased their minimum postal cost for LP's to £7.00, that figure has been enforced by the UK Post Office and it will become
our UK First Class, Recorded Delivery cost for albums up to the value of £46.  A temporary reduction this week means we can
now post LP's for £5, but who knows how long before the Post Office return to £7?

For LP's valued above £46, the cost will be £9, we are unhappy about either increase but our high standard of packaging has meant
in 13 years of ebay trading, there has not been one record damaged, we are determined to maintain that in the present and future.

IN THE UK RECORDS UP TO THE VALUE OF £46 WILL BE SENT RECORDED DELIVERY, OVER £46 WILL BE
SENT SPECIAL DELIVERY.
