Up for auction is Blue Note 4073: Freddie Hubbard's Hub Cap, featuring Hubbard on trumpet, Jimmy Heath on tenor, Cedar Walton on piano, Julian Priester on trombone, Larry Ridley on bass, and Philly Joe Jones on drums. This is an ex-radio DJ copy from New York and is an original mono pressing. This is a stamped "Review copy." It has the 47 West 63rd NYC address on label, 43 West 61st St. New York 23 address on jacket, RVG and the "ear" stamped in deadwax, and the registered trademark under the E of Blue Note. All of this indicates a first pressing.

Sleeve: NM-, with the DJ having written out notes on orchestration and/or solo order after each track, as well as an acquisition date of "October1, 1961." Otherwise the cover is glossy and bright, the seams are all intact, no dog-earring, a superb copy.
Record: NM-, with slight signs of wear, very little spindle wear and some very light scuffs from coming in and out of the sleeve. Comes with original Blue Note inner sleeve.

I am a university professor of music here in the US who inherited this and other records (Blue Note, Norgran, Impulse!, Columbia, Prestige, Fantasy, Riverside, etc.) from a collector and former radio DJ a few years back. I am looking to sell off some of these records to collectors/audiophiles who can get more enjoyment out of them than I can.

Thanks for looking.
