This is part of a large auction of blues, doo-wop & R&B 45's on Chicago-based labels from the 1950's/early 60's. Several Chess, Checker, Vee-Jay and more. Many promos mixed in. Even a few from more obscure labels.

Release: Eddie Jefferson w/ James Moody And His Orchestra - Billie's Bounce / I'm In The Mood For Love

Format: 45 rpm 7" single

Year: 1957

Notes: Maroon label 1st pressing. One of just a handful of singles released by Jefferson who originated the style of matching his vocals to a jazz riff or solo.  This features him vocalizing over James Moody's orchestra, which itself includes Johnny Coles and Jimmy Boyd.  Interesting stuff and very much worth hearing.

Vinyl Condition: VG+, vinyl is in great shape with hardly any wear at all, one small but noticeable scuff near outer edge of Mood. Looks very clean and sounds great with no skips/ticks/bumps, plays with hardly any background noise at all.  Labels are nice with no marks/tearing/stickers. Just the slightest bit of scuffing. This is a nice copy overall.
