I listened to this record all the way through (I meant to briefly test it out, but Tolkien reads his works well and I became powerless to stop).  There is some light static occasionally, though I can't remember if there were any pops.  I probably need a new needle on my cheap record player though.  But all in all the sound is great considering the old equipment Tolkien was using to record.   The physical condition of the record is great.  I used a record cleaner to clean the surface and it shines.  There is a very light scuff mark on side two.  I tried to capture it in the close-up photo, but it's so light, I couldn't get it to show up in the picture.

The paper sleeve is original and, as such, is yellowed and wrinkled.

The outer sleeve is completely intact, with wear as shown in the photos from age and storage.

Great record!  If you don't buy it, I'll prob just keep it.  Just to prolong this extended description, the best part is side 1, where he reads the chapter "Riddles in the Dark" from the hobbit-Golem's first appearance.  He does the voice of Golem well and every so often you can hear him creaking in his chair as if he was sitting in his office at home.

Your shipment will be sent to you safely in the lp shipping box shown in the final picture.

Any questions let me know.  Thanks!
