Hello There!
Here we have a Decca SXL 2292 - Prokofiev: CLASSICAL SYMPHONY ANSERMET / OSR UK 1961 DECCA WBg Ed.1 for sale!  I am pleased to tell you this is a 1st Edition pressing and a very early one at that. The Matrix is ZAL-5143-2E.
Using the generic grading system I would rate the LP as near mint + and the jacket as excellent +
The vinyl itself looks lovely and glossy without any noticeable marks or scratches. In fact I don't think this record could have been played more than once, if at all. The bits of dust in picture can obviously come off.
The Jacket is so close to being near mint, with only the smallest amount of crinkling in the top right corner.
I haven't attempted to clean either the jacket or the vinyl itself, so I expect you can make the Vinyl and jacket look even better than they already do!
Unfortunately at this moment in time I do not own a LP player which I trust enough to play these valuable records. Therefore the grading of the vinyl is purely by sight alone.
However I have taken much of the collection to a few specialists, who have assured me these are excellent examples of the series. I have also spent a lot of time researching the collection and taking high quality pictures. The pictures will sometimes show dust on the records - don't worry this can be easily removed, (I will always mention if I see obvious marks or hairlines). The pictures also show you the lack of spindle marks on these records. Please note the camera colour balance was sometimes a little off - I will always mention if there is serious discolouration.)
So please make sure to inspect the pictures carefully, as what you see is what you get. I will not offer refunds or returns as I am pricing these records competitively.
Packaging
To ensure safe delivery I remove the record and inner sleeve from the outer sleeve to avoid outer sleeve splits as well as using sturdy LP boxes with stiffeners. I'll even include a brand new high quality plastic sleeve for you.
Shipping
All records will be sent using a minimum of a signature required on delivery, I do not intend to make any profit on shipping costs.
Here's some history on how I came across these amazing records..
My granddad Patrick Cooper was a director at Decca back in the glory days, as a result he amassed a collection of over 500 Lps, many of which are ultra rare first editions.
These records have been cherished over the years and many have never been played, just kept protected in their original inner sleeves. Patrick, along with my father produced the very first carbon fibre record brushes, which helped people all over the world keep their records in top condition.
I have been left with this superb collection and I am now sharing some of it with you. I hope you enjoy listening to them and look forward to keeping the history alive. I will be selling throughout the year so keep an eye out for rarities from the SXL 2000 and 6000 range, SKL, box sets and also many other special treasures from Decca's various off shoots - including Argo, RCA and Deram Etc...
Included in this vast collections are many one-off factory samples and intriguing never before seen records, for more information please don't hesitate to contact me.
