For sale is a vinyl record by Marian Anderson titled Songs by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms Strauss and Haydn, originally released in 1964 by RCA Victor Red Seal Records. This is a first pressing with labels that have a picture of "Nipper", the white RCA dog logo, with shading behind him, commonly called a "Shaded Dog" pressing. Inside the dead wax between these labels and the last tracks is etched the matrix numbers 1-S/4-S, followed by an upper case "I", indicating that early stampers were used to press this record at RCA Records' pressing plant located in Indianapolis, Indiana. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. I bought this album used, cleaned it and immediately put it into an archival inner sleeve. Doing this protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve or insert that may have come with the release. The inner sleeve is graded as Excellent because of some foxing around the edge. The insert with the song's lyrics are graded as Near Mint. The cover is graded as Excellent with a little bit of ring wear and corner blunts. The spine has color loss, along with a little paper loss at the corners from these blunts. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint with smooth, shiny surfaces without any spindle marks on the labels. I'm play grading this album as Near Mint without any pops, skips or surface noise as it plays all the way through to the end. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I have more Spiritual albums, as well as records of all genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately in Near Mint condition. Thank you for viewing my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
